Sex Sells Travel: Virgin America's In-Flight PJ Party

Here's your gratuitous Friday morning shot of Virgin America's in-flight pj party. Victoria's Secret models Selita Ebanks and Miranda Kerr hosted the fun on board Virgin's flight 317 on Wednesday night, and that's Samantha Tannehill pictured, working it in the aisle.

In addition to all the ogling that went on--and we hear there was plenty--passengers also got makeovers and take-home totes full of beauty products. Guests also got their own pj sets to wear at a pre-flight reception, though we doubt anyone wore them as well as the Angels.

Virgin America: Lingerie Models? Yes. Seattle Service? Not So Much.

Virgin America's inaugural Victoria's Secret flight touched down at LAX yesterday, dropping off 27 runway models on their way to the lingerie company's annual fashion show. Some of the women will be back on board on November 28 for VA's in-flight PJ party.

And while we like models as much as anyone, we also like digging up dirt on where Virgin might fly next. After our speculative post last week, we figured Seattle was a lock for future service. Until we contacted airport spokesman Perry Cooper, that is:

We do not have any plan at this time for Virgin America to come to Seattle. We have been in talks for a couple of years with Virgin, as we are always looking for appropriate additions for our Northwest travelers. But we have not determined any plan or agreement.

Now, this certainly doesn't mean VA won't ever touch down at Sea-Tac, but it does make us more apt to believe Miami is the next destination for the airline.

Virgin America Planning Supermodel PJ Party

A Jaunted Exclusive:
Virgin America will host its first in-flight PJ party on flight 317 from JFK to LAX on November 28. Passengers can look forward to an in-flight runway show, makeovers and other activities. And, oh yeah, two of these Victoria's Secret supermodels.

Selita Ebanks and Miranda Kerr will be hosting the party. It will be their second flight on Virgin America in three weeks, after a November 12 charter takes them to the annual Victoria's Secret fashion show. That plane will then be named "Runway Angel" in honor of the ladies.

If you don't already have tickets for the flight on 11/28, don't fret. Virgin America is giving away three pairs of tickets along with some other goodies. They've set up a special website for the sweepstakes, pjparty.virginamerica.com, that will go live around noon today. Just a reminder: CTRL-R is the keyboard shortcut to refresh webpages.

Bangkok: One Wednesday in Bangkok

Tonight on America's Next Top Model we'll see if the commercial enterprise otherwise known as Tyra Banks can give us a compelling reason to feature Bangkok as the ANTM cycle six destination. And no, the fact that Bangkok hosts a Fashion Week doesn't cut it.

Obviously, we understood Paris and Milan as cast destinations. We also got Tokyo and London. But Bangkok? It's about as loopy as proposing Cape Town as a global fashion capital, which, incidentally, Tyra & company did in a previous cycle.

Look, we love Bangkok. And don't misunderstand us. We're happy to recognize a dynamic fashion scene anywhere. But isn't the point of ANTM to put contestants in situations that successful models would likely face, like being herded through one of the world's actual fashion centers?

Haw. We know that ANTM is a grooming ground for future minor media figures before anything resembling modeling boot camp. Generic entertainment industry success is the clear payoff.

Cycle three runner-up YaYa Da Costa Johnson is the most successful contestant in the history of the series not because she's on fashion magazine covers but because she's all over television and theatre screens, doing that Radio Shack ad and appearing in this movie.

Disappeared-into-nowhere former superstar Leonardo DiCaprio is taking a little break in Europe with a new lady. After his split with Brazilian bombshell Gisele Bundchen last year, Leo seems to have found himself a new lady--who is a full ten years younger than he is--to cavort with him across Europe. And by cavort, we mean, you know, frolic. In bed.

Leo was spotted with Israeli model Bar Rafael in both Prague and Paris recently. Who knows where the two will surface next? There's nothing like an extravagant European vacation with a hottie 10 years younger than you to get over a former flame. Unless that flame is Gisele. Good luck, Leo.

Havana: Hot Model Pics!

It's not enough to be a beauty queen these days. Now pretty ladies are becoming super-sexy international women of danger and intrigue, ideally coming ot the big screen soon. You're not making it any easier for guys to pick you up with this behavior, ladies.

Miss Czech Republic 1999, Helena Houdova, spent her recent trip to Cuba photographing the conditions of poor and sick in the Havana slums. Four days into her trip, Houdova and her friend were arrested and detained by the secret police. Houdova hid her camera's memory card inside her bra and claimed that she had erased the pictures.

After about twelve hours of being questioned about their guide, with the secret police repeatedly demanding they admit to "counterrevolutionary activities", Houdova and her friend were released . The photos she took are now being exhibited at the Langhans Gallery in Prague.

This story combines many of our favorite things: Models, digital cameras, and handcuffs. Where can we send her next?
