It's officially summer, so to kick off the season, we decided to take a look at the hot cultural offerings popping up in the warm-weather months. Whether you want to catch some dance, theater or art, we'll give you the lowdown on the things you need to do this summer, other than work on your tan.

Boston has had quite the decade when it comes to sports victories, and last night’s win by the Boston Bruins in the final game of the Stanley Cup Finals adds a hockey championship to the city’s trophy case. The fans in Vancouver haven’t been taking the loss too well, but on Saturday, Bruins fans in Boston will be happily hitting the streets to celebrate and honor the city’s latest championship.
At this point the city knows how to throw a victory parade, since like 2002 there have been three parties for the Patriots, two for the Red Sox, and one most recently for the Celtics. The fun will begin at 11am on Saturday—which means quite the crowd as most will be out of work—and will wind its way through the city. ]]>
All aboard for Boston! Actually, if the Massachusetts Tourism Board could have it their way, you'd be more than Boston-bound; you'd be hopping and skipping around to all 1,000 tourist spots within the state of Massachusetts.
That's right; we said one thousand. It seems a bit ambitious for a tourist to even make it to 5% of the places, but then you know zealous people get over crossing off every item in the book 1,000 Places to See Before You Die. For this Massachusetts version, featured spots include a Thermometer Museum, a vanilla extracts store and the entire town of Newton. We bet that you'll just be just fine going to your eternal rest without having visited a vanilla extracts store, but Massachusetts argues otherwise. ]]>
Grown Ups, the new movie starring Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, Rob Schneider and David Spade, hits theaters today. Although you might expect it to be a buddy comedy about five childhood friends, you may be surprised to find that it can also serve as a guide to summertime fun in Eastern Massachusetts.
The majority of the movie was filmed at Centennial Grove, a beloved rental facility for parties and events on Chebacco Lake in Essex, MA. The lake hosts boat parades, fishing competitions and community parties throughout the summer and is one of the most popular lakes for fisherman and boaters in the state. ]]>
Next week, you can watch Anna Faris get married in Gloucester, MA while lounging on the beach. The House Bunny star will be filming a wedding scene for her upcoming comedy, What's Your Number? on Good Harbor Beach next week before moving to a private home nearby in Cape Ann to film the duration of the wedding festivities through June 23rd.
What's Your Number?, which has been filming in Boston for several weeks, is about a woman who looks back at the past twenty men she's had relationships with and wonders if one of them might be "the one". Thanks to the plot, Anna gets to kiss a bevy of cute co-stars including Chris Evans, Andy Samberg, Dave Annable, and Zachary Quinto. ]]>

We'll spoil the ending of the Cape Cod Chips' factory tour and say that yes, it does end in a free bag of golden salty deliciousness—but consider making this a detour on your obligatory fall foliage tour.
The Cape Cod company was founded in the '80s with an eye to creating a healthier potato chip (Ed. note: hah!) by cooking in a shallow vat of oil instead of a giant tub like the big guys used. We have truly entered the family vacation portion of summer, what with last week's National Parks free day and the anxiety of squeezing in trips before Labor Day. Although President Obama, Michelle, Malia and Sasha have spent their summer traveling around the world and taking in various tourist sites, they have also been working all the while. Thus, it's even time for the first family to call it quits for a bit and head to Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts for some deserved rest and relaxation.
