Sugar High, Up High: Five Exceptional Airport Candy Shops

If you’re flying next week, beware the red and pink cheap chocolates of the Hudson News airport outlets. While sending something in advance of Valentine’s Day is probably the best idea, you can always grab something nice for him or her on your way home from the airport, and no we're not talking about flowers from an arrivals hall vending machine. Here’s five airport candy shops that should satisfy any sweetie’s sweet tooth:

Sugar Pop - Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport

Even if you don’t need something for the upcoming Hallmark holiday, it’s worth it to stop in at Sugar Pop within the mall section of Terminal 1-Lindbergh. The place is loaded with different colors and sugary options, and they even have some teddy bears and other cuddly critters to go along with all those calories. This isn’t exactly the place for gourmet confections, but if you’re looking for oversized lollipops or personalized treats, it'll more than do.

Candy Empire – Singapore-Changi Airport

Sitting within the basement level of Terminal 3 is the spot you need to visit for chocolates, cookies, and everything in between. They promise stuff from Australia, Europe, and the United States, so if you can’t find something that fits your needs, you don’t know what you need. A few pieces of foreign candy from Candy Empire should hopefully smooth over any sort of trouble caused by not being home on Valentine's Day.

Minneapolis: Every Layover Brings New Reasons to Love Minneapolis Airport

A note before the weekend: if you're traveling through Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport this weekend—or really any time through the rest of the summer—we encourage you to stop for a moment and smell the roses, as it goes. MSP is quickly becoming our new favorite airport. Not for departing from or arriving to so much, but definitely for tranferring through.
First, that's sweet (and hidden) observation deck, then they've got vintage pinball machines and arcade games, and of course we cannot forget about the infamous Larry Craig bathroom. But now, during yet another layover, something else caught our eye: little laptop/phone charging trays affixed to poles near windows where the tarmac view is especially nice.
MSP knows they've got serious #avgeek numbers amongst their daily traveler population, and why not encourage them to do what they love best? That is, chilling out and just watching planes take to the skies. You'll find the majority of them hanging out between the bajillion Delta gates, but you know what? We'll go the extra mile for an outlet and a view.

Walk Off Extra Calories While Traveling Through Five Airports with Fitness Programs

However, walking is always a good way to combat those pesky extra calories, and many airports have gone the extra mile—ha—to help you. Here’s a few airports where walking through the concourses and terminals will help you burn off a few extra calories:
· Move It At MSP:
Up at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport it’s always a good time to take a stroll through the airport to get the blood pumping—even when it’s bitterly cold outside. Airport officials have partnered with the American Heart Association to encourage travelers to “Start!” moving. There’s a clearly marked 1.4-mile loop that will take you through most of Terminal 1-Lindbergh, so if you’ve got an hour to burn it’s one good option especially since it drops you off right where you started.
