Fans flocked to Minnesota when Weird Weird Al Yankovic sang about the biggest ball of twine, and hundreds of miles of well-placed signage mean anyone who's set foot in South Dakota has at least heard of Wall Drug. But for seasoned travelers heading across Middle America on the great summer road trip, there's still one hidden gem that's definitely worth a stop. And it's in the small town Bellefontaine, Ohio.
Located about an hour outside of Dayton, Bellefontaine is home to more than Ohio's Honda of America operations. It's also the birthplace of concrete streets! Bellefontaine was the first town in the country to pour the mixers back in 1801. Tarmac and asphalt have got nothing on this quiet community. Sure, there may not be much else to see in this tiny Ohio `hood, but the good news is that the first concrete street in the country also gets you the hell out of town.
