Johnny Depp And Angelina Jolie May Each Become A 'Tourist'

It's every casting director's dream, Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie starring in a film about a man drawn into a web of danger by a female interpol agent as she tries to track down an ex-lover. If the rumors are true, the dream may become a reality soon.

Various reports claim that Johnny Depp is in talks to star in “The Tourist” along with Jolie, but don't get your hopes up too soon. The film has already gone through several casting shakeups. Originally, Tom Cruise and Charlize Theron were set to star but scheduling conflicts got in the way. If the current casting rumors pan out, this will be the second time in a year that Jolie has stepped into a film originally meant for Cruise. Tom had been eyeing "The Tourist" and the upcoming movie "Salt," but dropped out of both for "Knight and Day," which is currently shooting in Boston.

"The Tourist" will most likely be shot in Europe, which is alright with Angie. Apparently, the mother of six is tired of the constant media attention in the States and plans to work mostly in Europe for the next few years. Filming for "The Tourist" is set to start early next year.

Anaheim: Disney Expo Surprises Include Johnny Depp And New Rides

While most were firmly planted on the couch watching Sunday’s football games, things were wrapping up at the D23 Expo in Anaheim. Disney hopes that this year’s expo—which is much like Comic Con for Disney fans—is just the first of many for years to come. If they announce as much as they did during this year’s edition, then we’ll definitely be intrigued year after year. However, we did know about a lot of their new projects already, including a revamp of the Star Tours attraction, thanks to the ol’ rumor mill.

One big surprise was to see Johnny Depp himself step onto the stage in full Captain Jack Sparrow regalia. He was in character and playfully going back and forth with one of the Disney suits on stage; he even commented about what poor Kermit the Frog tasted like. Depp was there to confirm that he will be returning in 2011 to star in the fourth edition of the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise.

Wisconisn: Hiding Out In Wisconsin, The Original Gangster Way

Public Enemies, starring Johnny Depp and Christian Bale, opens nationwide on Wednesday to the usual Hollywood hype, but what sets the movie apart is that is was actually filmed where the real-life action once took place. Based on the life of gangster John Dillinger, who hid out for a short time in Northern Wisconsin until an FBI raid in 1934, the movie filmed in the dairy state. And since northern Wisconsin is still a popular getaway for Chicagoans, thanks to its picturesque lakes and small town feel, we've compiled a little guide to staying in Wisconsin, Original Gangster-style.

Where to Stay:
A favorite hotel of another equally famous gangster, Al Capone, was the the Four Seasons Resort on Miscauno Island. The Four Seasons forces visitors to get away from it all (ahhem hideout), as the only way onto the island is by a single lane, one hundred-year-old steel bridge; access to the outside world can thus be easily regulated.

The resort features large rooms with private porches, several restaurants, a golf course and activities including biking, fishing and canoeing. It also offers special packages year-round like the Silver Golf Package, with two days of golf, use of a cart, and one night at the lodge for $169 per person.

Five In-Flight Movies To Avoid Now

Try as we might to entertain ourselves in the air, we occasionally get sucked into the in-flight movie anyway. It's difficult not to feel that childlike tickle of enthusiasm as the pop-down screen descends and people all around you take out their headphones. When we were younger, this was a golden opportunity to watch (an edited version of) the movies our parents wouldn't take us to -- only now do we realize how right they were, when we single out the worst in-flight movies this month.

Albuquerque: No More Goats

Today, we're so sorry to report, is the last day of principal shooting for “Men Who Stare at Goats.” The movie will be filming at SunCal Dunes in Albuquerque, a 55,000-acre tract of land with spectacular views of the cityscape that may soon become a massive housing development. We don’t which is the bigger shame: Transforming a tranquil landscape into suburbia or watching another George Clooney movie wrap.

In Wisconsin, Eric Roberts, most recently seen on “Heroes,” has started in on the indie flick, “Project Solitude." They'll be filming around Flintville today, a small town located in the metro Green Bay area. This isn’t the first movie to come through these parts this year: Johnny Depp was in Wisconsin for more than two months in the spring filming “Public Enemies.”

Chicago: Very Funny, Johnny Castle, Now Get Back to Work

Patrick Swayze recently struck a pose not found in dance class on the set of his new television show "The Beast" in Chicago. Defying earlier reports by People magazine and others that he had terminal pancreatic cancer, Swayze put that baby in a corner with chemo sessions at Stanford and is set to star in the '09 series as a FBI agent whose new partner has a hidden agenda.

Is Chicago the new Vancouver in this economic climate? With the Canadian dollar around 97 cents to a Washington, high-profile projects like "Public Enemies," a '30s gangster epic starring Johnny Depp, have been taking advantage of the Second City. It doesn't hurt that the city just stood in for Gotham, either.

Celeb Summer Vacation Travel: Lohan to Johnny Depp's Private Island?

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan already has an offer for her summer vacation: Oscar nominee Johnny Depp wants her to come over--to his private island! Depp bought Little Hall's Pond Cay, a mile-long island in the Bahamas, in 2004 and uses it when he, longtime girlfriend Vanessa Paradis and their two children need to get away from the prying eyes of the paparazzi. (We like to imagine he wears full pirate gear and staggers around with a bottle of rum.)

Depp extended the offer after he ran into Lohan backstage at the MTV Movie Awards last weekend--except he calls his lil' corner of paradise "Fuck-off Island." Oh wait, that kind of sounds like the place you send people you don't like.

Hopefully Lindsay can work in a trip around the filming of her next movie, the '20s tango romance "Dare to Love Me." We just wonder where Woody Harrelson fits into all this...
