Once again Jaunted Flickr Pool member Chris Gold has come through with a bunch of great travel snapshots for us to sift through on this lazy Friday before Labor Day. Spotted at the Palais Club Disco in Cannes: a girl dancing barefoot on the bar. Not a very wise idea in our opinion. There could be sharp glass and sticky grenadine and blow on that bar there. But when it's hot in Cannes, it doesn't matter.

The massive club can hold about 2,500 jetsetters. Their dress code is listed as "dressy" and this is not a cheap joint. Prepare to max out your Amex. Or get Gianfranco to foot the bill. But it does have a rooftop from where you can gaze out at the Mediterranean and escape the deeply-tanned Euros smoking cigarettes and waving their sparklers.

Sadly, if you're looking to party at the Palais, you'll have to wait until next summer. The club had its summer closing party last weekend.

Iceland has had a rough year. While tourism might now be booming, the country's main banks and currency collapsed earlier in the year, leaving the North Atlantic Island's econonmy and government in perpetual crisis mode. Not to mention in debt to various European countries.

There is some good news on the horizon in that Iceland is beginning talks to join the European Union which could greatly help them out. But it couldn't hurt for Icelanders to go hunting for a pot of gold at end of this rainbow, snapped by Jaunted Flickr member Chris Gold, at the Gullfoss Waterfalls. (Yes, we know it's corny but we couldn't resist!)

Remember the popular YouTube video of the English bulldog hopping on the skateboard and taking off? Well, it looks like this French bulldog in Barcelona is trying to get his own shot at fame. Although, it doesn't look like he (or she) succeeded.

Still, the Flickr member who took this snapshot, Marni Rachel, dropped in a ton of great travel shots from Barcelona and abroad into the Jaunted Flickr Pool. Trust, us. We probably spent a good half-hour just looking at them all. And wishing we were traveling some place right now.

Yesterday we found ourselves at McCarren International Airport at 12:30pm and we were sort of happy to see that there was still a taxi traffic jam in front of the Southwest terminal and a longish wait at the bag check.

Why on earth would we ever be happy about those occurrences? Well, with all the bad news out of Vegas lately, it was a pleasant surprise to see that people were still traversing through town. Even though it was a weekday, folks were out walking the Strip, guzzling oversized souvenir beverages (daquiris in a plastic Eiffel Tower glass, anyone?), gambling, attending shows and chowing down at the restaurants.

Sure, the tourism stats tell us that visitors are spending less and that hotel rates have dropped drastically but we were happy to see that "what happens in Vegas" could A) still happen there and B) stay there.

Also, the free WiFi at McCarren kicks ass. We even did a video chat with our friend while sitting at a slot machine. Jealous?
