Airport Photo Shoots: Send Us Yours

Turns out Rafat Ali, the founder of the digital content news site paidContent, is as hooked on airport photo shoots as we are.

The only part of airports that I like: celebrity sightings. Below is a small collage of my sightings over the last six months: the latest was the biggest: a very frail Peter O' Toole was on the same flight as mine from JFK to LAX this Friday

Cool. We have amassed quite a collection of celebrity sightings at airports, but we want more. So, if you see someone of note at an airport, have a camera phone, or a digital camera, and are not shy about using it -- feel free to shoot us the results at tips@jaunted.com.

Just title the email "Airport Photos Shoot" and we will take care of the rest. Oh, and as always, be considerate there is a nice way and a not so nice way to snap a quick photo -- go with the nice way.

Chris Elliott rocks. Are we just saying that because he named us one of the most influential travel bloggers of 2007? Nope. On more than one occasion travel's true ombudsman helped crack Skybus, serving up the executives' phone numbers so stranded passengers could at least call someone.

Chris serves dutifully as the arbitrator of travel customer service queries daily in every media imaginable. Television, radio, Interwebs and even print. He's the Diddy of travel, with his hands in a bit of everything, and the bottom line is if you aren't listening to his conversations you're probably missing something.

Do people actually get paid to write about riding the virgin, chasing Jessica Alba around Vancouver, and reporting on airport wifi. Yes. Now it is not the kind of pay that is going to wipe out the deficit, but pay nonetheless. Getting paid to blog about travel is not an urban legend.

Get Your Travel Photos Published

The Jaunted Flickr pool is now 1,938 photos and growing, but we know we can get even more excellent travel photos up there. As you know we use photos from the pool in our posts, and Jaunted Field Trip photos are always included in the pool--both linking back to the photographers stream.

Currently, we are looking forward to throwing even more linkage toward talented photographers from around the world.

Just go here and join our group. Then, on any photos you want to send in, click "Send to group" in the toolbar underneath the title. Select "Jaunted" and you will be diving in with the grace of Greg Louganis.

We want you to get active at getting your excellent travel photos in here and help them get the attention they so deserve. Oh, and if any Jaunted readers are going on cool field trips, don't be shy, let us know. Who knows, you may be able to become a Jaunted correspondent for your trip--if you can say the alphabet backwards and pat your head while rubbing your belly.
