Last week Ryanair announced it would start fining passengers for taking more than one carry-on bag aboard. We don't imagine a lot of A-listers are taking Europe's cheapest airline, but if they did, who would rise to the challenge and who would be digging in their pockets for that £30 ($42) fee?

Anne Hathaway conquers the clutter with one tiny purse -- even her man-friend has a bigger bag! Kate Winslet's elegant handbag makes it easy for her to sign autographs for her fans and talk on her phone at LAX. Vanessa Hudgens looks a little weighted down by her huge bag, but she managed to keep it to one -- for an LAX-Tokyo flight, nonetheless!

But not every celeb can get down to that one bag. Bar Refaeli's pair of a blue purse and roller makes her a light packer, but a heavy overhead-bin user. Hayden Panettiere's super-chic belted bag (complete with seatbelt buckle) wouldn't fool a gate agent into thinking she was only toting a purse. And Jessica Simpson's second piece can't be checked -- she'd be paying a fat fine for her Maltipoo Daisy.

Around the world, the last New Year's Eve overpartiers are finally crawling into work--but not your favorite celebrities. We figure anyone on a beach this week is just rubbing it in, so let's examine the culprits:

"Heroes" costars Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia walked along a beach in Bora Bora toward their private villa. Also in the Pacific, Kate Moss took her boyfriend Jamie Hince to Surin Beach on Phuket, where she once got married (in a non-binding ceremony) to ex Pete Doherty. Might history repeat itself?

Meanwhile, among those dipping their toes into the Atlantic were Amy Winehouse, who seemed not to leave her house in 2008 at all until this trip to St. Lucia. Jude Law stepped off the London set of "Sherlock Holmes" long enough to take his kids to Copacabana Beach in Rio. And the celebrity-ridden beaches of Cabo provided Leonardo DiCaprio and Bar Refaeli with a beach holiday and Jennifer Aniston a potential respite from the rumors about her very Mayer Christmas. Must be nice! We're going to go put another sweater on.

She's got super powers, who would mess with her? "Heroes" actress Hayden Panettiere has been given the all-clear to travel back to Japan after a warrant was issued for her arrest last year.

Nature-lover Hayden participated in protests related to overfishing that hurt local whales, causing the city of Taiji to call for her arrest. But the onscreen cheerleader met with Masahiko Komura and was somehow able to convince him she wasn't a threat to national security.

And she hasn't renounced the whales: She even hosted a benefit for the Whaleman Foundation last night in Hollywood at Eva Longoria's restaurant with "Heroes" boyfriend Milo Ventimiglia.
