London: London Brings The Stars To Town This Week With Twilight And More

Gwyneth Paltrow is getting back to her normal routine in her adopted hometown of London. The actress and her kids, Apple and Moses, spent the summer in Los Angeles so she could work on the sequel to Iron Man, but now they're all back in the UK and okay. Gwyn was spotted sipping on a cup of coffee yesterday after skipping her kids off to school.

The family's routine won't last too long though. Gwyneth just signed on for The Danish Girl, replacing Charlize Theron as Greta, a 1920s painter whose husband poses for her as a female model. Nicole Kidman has also joined the cast too—she'll be playing the husband.

Barcelona: Paltrow Lets It All Hang Out (Of Her Tank Top) At Barcelona's Airport

If only we had a dime for every time we've flashed our bra at the airport security check, we'd have just about enough to buy a stick of gum. And you know why? Because we are not Gwyneth Paltrow, who apparently decided that the weather in Barcelona was cold enough to wear a scarf, but so hot that a handkerchief of a tank top would do for the flight home.

Alas, the tank top didn't do very well, and now pictures of Paltrow not only looking haggard at the checkpoint are out on the web, but they include her flesh-colored bra, which, unless you do a double-take, looks like fully nude side-boobage. We're going to jot this down in our no-nos list of in-flight fashion, for obvious reasons. Also, doesn't that scarf kind of look like a neck brace until you see the whole picture?

Los Angeles: Can We Get This Award To Go?

A host of award shows brought some celebrities out, but not all of them: Gwyneth Paltrow attended the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles in a sparkly Burberry number to support husband Chris Martin, whose band Coldplay performed ~~with the backing of a marching band~~; Katy Perry, who was up for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (but lost to British singer Adele), performed in a Carmen Miranda-esque fruit ensemble.

Kate Winslet picked up a statue for Best Leading actress at the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) in London, for which she was nominated both for her role in "The Reader" and "Revolutionary Road." She posed on the red carpet with presenter Daniel Craig. Less than two weeks till the Oscars! And speaking of the Oscars, Jessica Biel appeared in Oscar de la Renta at the Academy Awards' Scientific and Technical Awards Saturday night to give out all the little gold men that don't fit into the telecast.

But award shows aren't always the trip worth taking: Angelina Jolie arrived at the BAFTAs after a visit to a refugee camp in Thailand for cyclone victims from Myanmar, proving she still thinks some things are important than her career. (She and fellow Super World Traveler Brad Pitt were both up for leading awards; Jolie lost to Winslet, above, while Pitt lost to Mickey Rourke.) And last year's Grammy darling Amy Winehouse, who performed via satellite when she was not granted a visa to travel to L.A. for the ceremony, skipped the festivities altogether: Rumor has it she is staying in Jamaica to record her third album within reach of, uh, "inspirations." Well, there's always next year.

Los Angeles: Gwyneth Paltrow's Shiny, Happy Cities

"As strange, spread out and flatly lit as it can sometimes be, Los Angeles, with its bougainvillea, sea breezes, avocados and eccentric inhabitants, is like no other place and will always be in my soul," Gwyneth Paltrow writes in the latest installment of her newsletter GOOP. We can't account for what made us sign up for this vanity project, which promises to "nourish the inner aspect" with glossy weekly lists of things to buy and do, but her last two travel-related dispatches have us downright confused.

After recommending holistic detoxes and cutting "white" foods in an earlier edition, Paltrow spends the lion's share of her LA report recommending... restaurants, from her best buddy Mario Batali's Mozza on Melrose to "authentic deli food" in Beverly Hills. Some of her choices are solid--the treats from Joan's on Third and Intelligentsia Coffee both got high marks from us--but the whole thing reads like anorexia porn. (Not to mention the weird fixation on mentioning which restaurants are located in mini-malls, but maybe that's a SoCal concern.) And what is there to do in LA? Besides the Griffith Observatory, it's all farmer's markets.

In fairness to Gwynnie, her previous week's report listed two art exhibits to catch there, at the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Honor Fraser Gallery. But that's shoved in with her other adopted hometowns, like New York, London, Madrid and (really?) New Orleans. What we're saying is: Gwyneth, why must you make us hungry?

TV Travel: "Spain ... On the Road Again" Feels a Little Bloated

Last night we watched the latest installment of Mario Batali and Gwyneth Paltrow's food and travel show Spain ... On the Road Again, where the duo traverses the country in a Mercedes convertible, stopping to shop, cook, and eat at various culinary destinations along the way. The show would seem to have everything going for it, with respected hosts, a skilled production team, and rich subject matter, but it somehow never gets its legs under it. While we're neither expert cooks nor expert actors, we have logged all-too-many hours watching travel shows, and this one wastes far too much time trying to endear its subjects to us through their long, pointless conversations. We have enough of those in our regular lives.

London: Airport Photo Shoot: A Celebrity Pack in the Wild

Left to its own devices, the American celebrity (celebritus Americanus) finds its own kind and moves among them in a herd of Blackberrying fingers and venti skinny lattes. Here, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and Gwyneth Paltrow stick to their own kind at London Heathrow.

Last week we knocked Mary-Kate's oversized and understyled luggage, but she was probably hauling around her ideas for the clothing line she shares with her twin, Elizabeth and James.

It didn't make it into London fashion week this year, but maybe next season!
