Last night, Gibraltar tourism got its biggest boost since the rock formed. Miss Gibraltar, Kaiane Aldorino, beat out favorite Miss Puerto Rico to become Miss World 2009, letting guys everywhere know that hot girls live in Gibraltar too.

The win at the pageant in Johannesburg is a really a win for Britain because even though Gibraltar shares a border with Spain, its actually a British territory, making Aldorino a British national. In true beauty pageant fashion, the 22-year-old woman said she had "no words" to describe her win but added she was "really happy." We may have made it 'round to most of the world's itty-bitty countries and territories, but Gibraltar still eludes us. The Rock, which is not part of Spain but sits on the Iberian peninsula, is a self-governed British territory famous for peculiarities like their wild monkeys, mishmash of language and cuisine, and crazy insane airport runway positioning.

You see, Gibraltar's tiny airport straddles the border between Spain and Gibraltar, and juts out into the ocean because of the lack of land.
