Have you seen? ANA (All Nippon Airways) just unveiled the special livery which will adorn the first two Boeing 787 Dreamliners they receive, which will hopefully hit the skies full of paying passengers as soon as this autumn. We can thank the Paris Air Show for the news, and for the release of a walkthrough video of the new plane.
Get ready to wipe the drool from your chin...

All We Want for Christmas (2050) is Airbus' Awesome, Advanced Airplane

It’s just unfortunate that we’re going to have grandkids by the time the old upholstered seats are out and the full Star Trek-meets-Jetsons seats get installed.
The plane itself looks kind of a like a sleek version of a rocket ship, but with a longer fuselage and a couple of fin things hanging out on each side of the plane’s tail in addition to the usual wings. We’ll assume that on paper it's capable of flight, and that’s because we’re most interested about what’s located inside the next generation airplane.

The Future Of Tourism Is Sex With Robots, Says Researcher

There are some interesting, if somewhat bizarre, predictions going round about the future of tourism at the moment. Among other things, the headlines frequently mention robot sex, so we thought we should investigate a bit further.
A New Zealand researcher named Ian Yeoman is the source of these rumors, and he's been making some forecasts about how tourism will be different in 2050. It includes things like hotel rooms with wallpaper that will change color according to your mood (we're not sure if this is necessary …) and the creation of a lot more indoor attractions like artificial ski centers and golf courses.

Finnair Thinks 85 Years Ahead, We Wonder Why

All this year Finnair has been celebrating its 85th birthday in style, looking to the past with its 50s-retro paint job and now to the future with its Departure 2093 website.
The year 2093 is--in case you were wondering, because it wasn’t instantly obvious to us--another 85 years away, so Finnair thought it'd be fun to speculate about flying in the future. They asked experts for their opinion and drew funky pictures and even started a discussion forum for debate--it's early days, but after a week there are just four messages on it.
Given that, frankly speaking, we're not really anticipating being alive in 2093, Finnair's idea is kind of fun, but a bit on the irrelevant side. Their funky flying things of the future look great, though.
Related Stories:
· Departure 2093 [Official Site]
· Finnair Goes Funky 50s Retro [Jaunted]
· Finnair Coverage [Jaunted]
[Illustration: Departure 2093]
