Tokyo: Tokyo: Where the Planes Run on Time

List-loving Forbes has just figured out which airports around the world are the most punctual. They checked into the 50 busiest airports and then looked at their on-time arrival and departure data to figure out who's on top.
The moral of their story is that if you want your plane to leave on time, fly out of Tokyo. Haneda and Narita airports hold the top two spots: At Haneda, 93 percent of flights departed within 15 minutes of the planned time and 87 percent arrived on time. We know Japan well, so this result doesn't surprise us--but it does impress us.
A little surprisingly, the laid back Aussies come in fourth with Sydney's Kingsford Smith Airport; the organized Germans get their first rating in the ninth spot with Munich. An airport we consider a big mover on the international scene, Dubai International, came in a disappointing 49th.
Stateside, Orlando was the most punctual (8th) with Houston's George Bush Intercontinental close behind (10th). The US also gets the wooden spoon with LaGuardia coming in last.
Related Stories:
· 10 Most On-Time Airports [Forbes Traveler]
· Japan Travel coverage [Jaunted]
· Airports coverage [Jaunted]

Byron Bay: My Beach Is Sexier Than Yours

What a tough job it must be if you're a journalist who gets the job of writing up the world's 25 sexiest beaches, like they just did over at Forbes Traveler. But even if you're happy, you can't please everyone else, and down in Australia they're a bit miffed that only one of their thousands of impressive beaches made the Top 25.

Super-chic Byron Bay, between Sydney and Brisbane, was the lucky beach that won the default title of sexiest beach in Australia. Its big attractions were "chalky-white sands, deliciously temperate weather and occasional visits from dolphins and migrating whales." Perhaps the nearby nudist beach also pushed it up the rankings.

The north-eastern state of Queensland--home to the Great Barrier Reef and hundreds upon hundreds of popular beaches--were not at all impressed to be left out. But as the Gold Coast coastal management CEO said:
You can feel sexy without having to be told you're sexy.
Right. Now, 25 is a pretty small number when you're making an international list, so if your local beach didn't make it, don't be too distressed. Just get out there, be sexy and wait for next year's list.

Related Stories:
· 25 Sexiest Beaches [Forbes Traveler]
· Byron Makes Sexy Beach List [The Australian]

Baby, You Can Park My Car Anytime

We're a little obsessed with parking these days, but it seems everyone else is too. Budget Travel editor in chief Erik Torkells showed up on CNN the other day, talking about holiday travel and how to call ahead to reserve an airport parking spot. And Sophia Banay over at Forbes.com chimes in with a report on the most expensive airport parking around.

According to Sophia, you're likely to get creamed at the cash register no matter where you park. But some offenders are worse than others: a week at Chicago O'Hare could cost you $350; at Sea-Tac a week's only $99. Erik's advice on the matter is to skip on-airport parking and drop off your ride at a private lot with a shuttle to the terminals. It may take you a bit longer, but you can reserve a spot and save some cash.

Our fave parking tip is to just avoid it: Unless you're hauling cargo for a year-long safari, pack light and take public transportation. (Come on, it's not that smelly.)

Related Stories:
· Most Expensive Airport Parking [Forbes.com]
· Erik Torkells on CNN Pipeline [CNN]
· Jaunted's LA Parking Guide [Jaunted]
