New York's semiannual Fashion Week has begun! Full daily schedules of runway shows will last through this weekend and well into next week, while the city enjoys the big spending of foreign fashion editors and industry heavyweights. But we can't forget about the models! With over a hundred shows happening, you can bet that a sea of beauty has just washed into NYC. Here are The Five Best Places for Model-Watching During NYC Fashion Week:

· The subway, specifically lines that touch the west side of Manhattan:
The trains to travel on, if you want to sit across from models clutching their iPad portfolios or show schedules, are the E, C and 1 trains. These travel closest to Lincoln Center, the fashion offices of the garment district, the west side galleries where parties and shows take place, the better hotels in Soho and Tribeca, and the photo studios of the far west side. The model spotting on these lines starts earliest of all, like 1.5 weeks before fashion week, as models swarm the city on appointments and fittings before the big event.

Less than 12 hours ago in Paris, the semiannual Chanel Haute Couture runway show took place, helmed as usual by designer Karl Lagerfeld. As photos of the looks trickle onto the web, we see that we're not the only ones watching Pan Am; Karl's collection turned out look after look inspired by flight, the glamorous 1960s, and the old way of getting dressed for travel.

But wait; there's more. Not only were the fashions jet-appropriate, but the entire show went down inside a set like the fuselage of a commercial airliner. Guests sat 3-4 abreast on either side of a central aisle, and were greeted by a trolley serving juices and champagne. The fauxplane inside Paris' Grand Palais, dubbed Air Chanel, took builders five days to construct.

As Fashion Week winds down in New York, London's Somerset House is gearing up to welcome waifish bloggers, international journalists, and dedicated style aficionados to the recently erected tents in its courtyard, where shows will be staged.

In recent years, Topshop, the U.K.'s homegrown answer to H&M, has made quite a name for itself among fashion industry experts, from edtrixes who proudly cop to pairing their mass produced separates with designer threads to teenaged shoppers trying to achieve the Alexa Chung look on a ~~dime~~ pence. Hot men and haute menswear is dominating Milan this week as Men's Fashion Week wraps up, but although the runway and cocktail hours are private, invite-only events, they are often held in the best, most normally tourist-friendly areas. This way, even if you aren't among the select fashionistas to walk the red carpet, you'll still be able to visit and enjoy the scenery on any other normal day.
