Pasadena: LA Galaxy Playing FC Barcelona This Weekend at Rose Bowl

Los Angeles is Dodgertown, meaning that locals have plenty of reason to be enthused about home runs, hot dogs, and post-game drinks at The Short Stop. But sports fans should remember that there are other athletic past times well worth buying tickets for. If you've yet to see David Beckham "bend it" in person, seize the opportunity to do so this weekend, when the LA Galaxy takes on FC Barcelona in what's sure to be an epic match at Pasadena's Rose Bowl. Spaniards take soccer seriously, after all, but Galaxy players are no competitive slumps themselves.

Milan: Milan Snowstorm Snarls Airports, Delays Soccer Phenoms

With about a foot of snow falling on Milan and the rest of Northern Italy, officials closed both Malpensa and Linate airports, though both have now re-opened with "strongly reduced" traffic. (Translation: Your flight is delayed.)
But like a snowstorm in New York keeping your flight out of Vegas on the ground, the winter weather in Italy had wide-reaching consequences: David Beckham, who's been in Dubai training with temporary team AC Milan, will be stuck in the land of high-altitude bars and dirty beaches until at least Friday.
While public transit is still running in Milan, the streets look pretty empty. All the better for photographers to venture out and capture some interesting images, like these, of a city that rarely sees this much snow.

Related Stories:
· Two Airports Closed Amid Snowfall [IHT]
· Winter Storm Shutters Las Vegas Airport [Jaunted]
· Snow Day in New Orleans [Jaunted]
[Photo a bike sharing station: affisch]

Becks is moving teams to AC Milan next year, but if you think he and Posh are packing over their holiday vacation, you are so mistaken.
For stars with kids, the holiday was all about keeping the kiddos distracted until Santa arrives, from going ice-skating (Denise Richards and her daughters) to church (Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale and their sons).
But some can't catch a break from their own problems: Lindsay Lohan used her MySpace page to broadcast the news that she and her siblings found out this Christmas they have a new half-sibling from their dad's infidelity in the '80s. At least she admitted afterward that she sounded too much like a Debbie Downer. That's something you don't want to find under the tree!
Related Stories:
· David Beckham Will Wear No. 32 at AC Milan [Telegraph.co.uk]
· Lindsay Lohan Just Got Best Xmas Present Ever [The Superficial]
· Celeb Travel coverage [Jaunted]

But he's not the only non-competing celebrity to be hanging out in the host city, hoping to bump into Michael Phelps.
Blogger Beijing Boyce has been collecting celeb sightings of people like Bill and Melinda Gates on the Olympic green, Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling at (where else?) the baseball stadium, and Jared Leto just about anywhere.
David Hasselhoff and John Mayer are rolling into town to celebrate the last leg of the Gumball 3000.
But the best celebrity leak so far involves a bunch of civilians who are being pressed into action to represent their country at the last minute.

David Beckham's first trip to San Francisco didn't involve a ride on a cable car or a leisurely swim from Alcatraz Island. Rather, he was present to unveil a giant billboard of... himself, hanging on the downtown Macy's.
Becks is flabbergasted that people would go out of their way to visit an ad and take goofy pictures like the one above. Perhaps we should take him to a little place we like to call, "Times Square?"
It is true, however, that catching the Beckham billboard is easier than camping out with the paparazzi outside his Los Angeles home and cheaper than an LA Galaxy ticket.
