The world simultaneously giggled and rolled its eyes when the Guardian newspaper released a photo gallery of President Bush up to his usual hijinks at the 2008 Summer Olympics with wife Laura and daughter Barbara. But he's not the only non-competing celebrity to be hanging out in the host city, hoping to bump into Michael Phelps.

Blogger Beijing Boyce has been collecting celeb sightings of people like Bill and Melinda Gates on the Olympic green, Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling at (where else?) the baseball stadium, and Jared Leto just about anywhere.

David Hasselhoff and John Mayer are rolling into town to celebrate the last leg of the Gumball 3000.

But the best celebrity leak so far involves a bunch of civilians who are being pressed into action to represent their country at the last minute. No, not as an ad hoc water polo team, but at the closing ceremonies Led Zeppelin will perform with Leona Lewis and David Beckham will speak for the next summer Olympics, in London in 2012. Reportedly, they will all have a red double-decker bus for a platform, which makes us both excited and nervous.

David Beckham's first trip to San Francisco didn't involve a ride on a cable car or a leisurely swim from Alcatraz Island. Rather, he was present to unveil a giant billboard of... himself, hanging on the downtown Macy's.

Becks is flabbergasted that people would go out of their way to visit an ad and take goofy pictures like the one above. Perhaps we should take him to a little place we like to call, "Times Square?"

It is true, however, that catching the Beckham billboard is easier than camping out with the paparazzi outside his Los Angeles home and cheaper than an LA Galaxy ticket. Let's chalk this one up to the hot weather.

Still broken up about the implosion of Skybus? We can't promise you any $10 fares, but if you just need one more 'bus ride, you can get it in the UK.

Yep, the European Skybus flies puddle jumpers between southwest England, Wales and St. Brieuc, France. You can also make like David Beckham and catch a turboprop out to the Isles of Scilly, a swanky tourist spot just off the coast of Cornwall.

A couple of Skybus' routes are new, so you can still get introductory fares of £35 ($69) on some flights before May 31. Otherwise, flights start at £45 per segment. Not $10, but still not bad.

We were lucky (unlucky?) enough to get prime seats at the Staples Center for the first game of the series between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets. Football season in Europe is winding down this spring, but the much neglected Major League Soccer is just getting geared up in the States, and that means the David Beckham goodwill tour begins anew!

Wife Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham was on hand to watch Davey and the LA Galaxy lose a tough game against Toronto FC on Sunday. Kate Beckinsdale and her director husband were also in the stands, although how anyone spotted them is beyond our purview.

See the traveling show when the LA Galaxy comes to your town; they will face the Houston Dynamo and Chivas USA at home before getting on the road again to Salt Lake City at the start of May.

We've known it was coming since June, and the moment has arrived: The Spice Girls are back on tour! And the reviews are... well, actually, we don't care about the reviews. We'd rather just bask in the glory of Posh, Baby, Scary, Sporty and Ginger out on the road again.

At one of their recent L.A. shows, though, two audience members almost attracted more attention than the show on stage: David Beckham, who was there watching his wife, and Tom Cruise, who's Beckham's new best LA friend. According to a concertgoer, when Beckham got up to use the bathroom, he and his entourage commandeered the entire bathroom. Or should we say, he pulled a Gyllenspoon? How rude!

David Beckham's American vacation came to an end last night at DC's RFK Stadium. The golden boy finally started last night against DC United and started earning a chunk of his $250 million contract, scoring a goal in the first half and assisting on another. Ever the statesman of soccer, Beckham told reporters after the game, "We worked hard as a team and played hard as a team and we won as a team."

Wife Victoria is holding down the home fort, updating her blog and lining up a fat-suit cameo on the comedy series "Ugly Betty."
