Happy Friday! Finally, right? It's been a long week, but you're mere hours from the weekend and thus, we thought it proper to celebrate by pointing out that even airports like to have a little fun.

We're specifically thinking of Dallas-Love Field—total Southwest Airlines turf—and their outdoor "dog rest areas." You know what we're talking about—the little plots designated as places for your pets to do their business before and/or after flights.

A friend of Jaunted recently spotted one such area at DAL, complete with the cheeky sign above. For pet owners traveling with their best furry friends, taking a flight isn't exactly the easiest thing in the world, and a little injection of humor such as this can go a long way to diffuse the anxiety.

WiFi in the sky...who doesn't love WiFi in the sky? Apparently Southwest Airlines does, in fact, love WiFi and wants to make connectivity more accessible to passengers with a simplified pricing scheme, one that is attractive to those on a one-hour flight and a downright bargain for those on longer, transcontinental flights.

Southwest's new in-flight WiFi pricing plan is $5, no other catch. It's $5 for your iPhone or your laptop and it's $5 whether you're flying a short way from Houston to Dallas or a long way, such as Providence to Las Vegas. First: Southwest's plans for bursting onto the scene in Atlanta.

Early in the day at Southwest Airlines Media Day, the airline tackled the issue of their acquisition of AirTran as Bob Jordan, Jeff Lamb, and Mike Van De Ven fielded questions from press. There is something afoot in Dallas. One would think the home of Web-savvy Southwest would be an Internet-friendly kind of place. Yet we weren't able to pick up a wireless signal there, and we heard an announcement for Internet access... in the pre-security business center, hotel-style.

With the airport's official website somewhat less than useful, we turned to T-Mobile, who confirmed there is--or was--a hot spot at Love Field recently. Maybe our netbook took the day off. Can you solve the mystery of the missing hotspot? We'd "love" to pretend this was all a bad dream.
