Usually we think of superhero movies as taking place in big cities, vast deserts, or some other exotic locale, but that won't be the case with The Avengers.

Yesterday, Ohio's governor John Kasich announced that The Avengers will be filmed in Cleveland next month, at least in part. It's hard to believe that it's already almost one year since Michael Jackson's death and the ensuing hoopla of who was responsible. To mark the one-year anniversary of that fateful day, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will spend a weekend honoring the King of Pop.

From June 25 to 27, Jackson will be celebrated with exhibits, live music and dance demonstrations. Ohio Governor Ted Strickland held a news conference today in support of a 10-story LeBron James sign hanging in downtown Cleveland.

The Ohio Department of Transportation told the advertising company responsible for the 212-foot-wide sign to remove it because its size and proximity to a highway violates state law and the federal Highway Beautification Act of 1965.

Strickland held his news conference in front of the ginormous King James ad near the Cleveland Cavaliers' downtown arena to argue that the billboard should not have to come down. He claims the big sign is all about state pride. After all, Cleveland is in the midst of a 43 year professional sports championship drought.

The Department of Transportation probably will let the King James sign stay, after all, LeBron could buy all of Ohio, but could their next target be our friends in Columbus:

That review will apply to oversize signs in Downtown Columbus, which also have been the subject of controversy and a court challenge last year
