So, did you watch the premiere episode of ABC's Pan Am last night? It seems like half the world did, from the way Twitter was blowing up about it. Of course you can't go about judging a show from its premiere eppy—it's like judging a book by its heavily-financed cover—but we'll attempt to anyway.

Yesterday evening, we were introduced to Maggie, Kate, Colette, Laura, Dean and Ted. Their complexions are perfect, their Pan Am crew uniforms perfectly starched and their curiosity for the world genuine. Alas, it's not just because they are actors, but because this is the truth of what it was really like back in the heyday of the jet age. Is it autumn yet? Summer TV is so boring, especially when we've got ABC's new period drama Pan Am to look forward to. The series, which still doesn't have a premiere date, follows the swingingest period in Pan Am's history, when flight attendants were all class, steaks were still served onboard with steak knives, and a Pan Am helicopter whisked First Class passengers from Manhattan's Pan Am building to Idlewild Airport (now JFK) to catch their flight.

It seems that another, longer preview of the show has hit the net recently and we totally missed it until now. In it, we see a few more shots of the computer-generated Pan Am Worldport (now Delta's JFK Terminal 3) as well as glimpses of some serious stewardess/pilot fraternizing.

Yes yes yes yes! ABC has picked up the Pan Am TV show pilot for its 2011-2012 season. There's no set premiere date yet, but rest assured we'll keep you posted. All we know is that Pan Am is due to air on Sunday nights at 10pm, after Desperate Housewives. The workplace drama has been billed as the next Mad Men, and with Christina Ricci starring amidst all the sex and intrigue of Pan Am myth, this could be right.

We especially love the incorporation of New York-JFK's Terminal 3 in the promo cast shot above. Once upon a (far more glamorous) time, Terminal 3 was better known as the "Worldport," Pan Am's UFO-styled HQ in the Big Apple. These days it's used by Delta and scheduled for demolition in the few few years. We're now wondering if the new ABC show will have architecture and retro buffs out at JFK visiting it before its date with destiny.

For the past two months we've been tracking movies filming in Michigan. And, oh, what we’ve seen: From Christina Ricci at the RennFest to Rob Schneider partying in Greektown, it’s been quite a ride.

But just because our column is ending, filming in Michigan continues. In fact, according to the movie's official website, “Intent” begins shooting in Novi tomorrow. The movie stars Andrew McCarthy, which is good for him since his day job on "Lipstick Jungle" seems to be coming to an end. Oh, and did we mention that "Twilight" phenom, Jackson Rathbone is also starring? You'll be able to check out set pictures on the movie's website once filming is underway.

As we mentioned in our first Chasing Michigan post, Christina Ricci has been filming "All's Faire in Love" at the Michigan Ren Fest in Holly, Michigan.

Last week, Christina was spotted buying cosmetics for the cast and crew at LUSH Cosmetics in Troy. According to the Detroit Free Press, she bought four gifts including LUSH's Hello Gorgeous. That's right, thanks to a new incentives program from the Michigan Film Office, the state is experiencing a boom in filming with more than 60 movies on the shooting schedule for this year alone, up from just three last year. Christina Ricci arrived at LAX with her traveling companion Ramon earlier this week. Aww. He's even got a sweater vest that complements his owner's!
