Couldn't Lucius Fox have whipped him up a state-of-the-art child hoisting device?
In case you traveled to Under A Rock, Michigan this weekend, you know that "The Dark Knight" just broke all kinds of records, including biggest opening weekend in history and most opening screens.
The flick was filmed in Chicago, Hong Kong and Britain, all standing in for Gotham City. We craned our necks but didn't spot any real-life landmarks--how about you?
Related Stories:
· "The Dark Knight" Blows Up Brach's Candy Factory [Jaunted]
· "Dark Knight" Breaks 8 Records [Deadline Hollywood Daily]
· Celeb Travel coverage [Jaunted]

Jaunted faves Lauren Conrad and Blake Lively were able to finagle invitations to mingle with Bale, who plays the caped crusader for the second time, aided by an uncorrupted police buddy (Oldman), his butler (Caine) and the assistant DA (Gyllenhaal).
Absent, as reported weeks earlier, was Michelle Williams, walking the red carpet for Heath Ledger, although the actor's parents and sister made an appearance. Ledger has been getting Oscar buzz from the likes of TIME and Rolling Stone critics--and Bale himself said his costar "steals the movie"--but we hear he's not in the flick as much as DA Harvey Dent, played by Aaron Eckhart.
Related Stories:
· The Dark Knight Blows Up Brach's Candy Factory [Jaunted]
· Remembering Heath Ledger [Jaunted]
· Celeb Travel coverage [Jaunted]

When director Michael Mann was looking for a place to shoot his next movie, about the John Dillinger crime spree, he could have gone to Canada or Mexico or even the Russian steppes to recreate the Wild West where the great robber made his fortune. Instead, he's going to... Wisconsin! The project, with the working title "Public Enemies," secured some sweet tax credits thanks to a new state law that went into effect January 1.
Looks like the film's stars Christian Bale and Johnny Depp will be packing their bags for a Midwestern spring. (Hint: Sometimes even May brings snow to Wisconsin!) By the way, Dillinger did hide out with his gang in the northern part of the state before meeting--spoiler!--his eventual demise in Chicago.
Related Stories:
· Celeb Travel coverage [Jaunted]
· Wisconsin Travel coverage [Jaunted]
· Movie Set Travel coverage [Jaunted]

Santa Fe: Movie Set Travel: 3:10 to Yuma

Hankering for a little authentic Western outlaw action? Check out 3:10 to Yuma this weekend. Christian Bale plays a cash-poor farmer who's in need of some fast money to save his land, and in turn takes on the responsibility of getting a murderer (Russell Crowe) to court on--yep, you guessed it--the 3:10 to Yuma.
Of course Crowe has his own gang of thugs in hot pursuit and doesn't waste time playing mind games and various other disappearing acts on Bale. There's tons of pretty scenery, shoot-em-ups and chase scenes. We hear this has the potential to be the surprise action movie of the summer.

3:10 to Yuma was shot in stunning Santa Fe, NM; here's some interesting things to check out in SF:

Where To Stay: The Inn of Five Graces -- Seep into the Far East-meets-Old West feel of this renovated, cozy inn. Each of the 22 suites has something unique, be it furnishings or a thatched ceiling. We hear the personal touches are pretty memorable: Think Dream Catchers on your pillow and an amazing breakfast. But what are the Five Graces? Basically, the five senses, which they claim to gratify completely.

Where To Eat: Harry's Roadhouse -- Get a little crazy and head to this offbeat, wacky looking spot where you can dig into New Mexican inspired favorites like smoked chicken nachos and or corn turkey enchiladas. There's a little ambiance lacking, but a photo in front of the colorful main sign makes a nice postcard.

Where To Visit: Santa Fe National Forest -- Scenes from the film were shot here for good reason. The 1.5 million acres provide some of the most gorgeous scenery in the west, including the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and Truchas Peak. Call ahead of time as many areas of the park are often shut down due to dry conditions and forest fires.

Related Stories:
· Movie Set Travel coverage [Jaunted]
· Santa Fe Hotels [HotelChatter]
