Last week when we hopped off to Singapore on the inaugural run of the Singapore Airlines A380 JFK-FRA-Sin, we tweeted a quick photo of our baggage before boarding. This is it. Yes, that's all of it for two full weeks of both business and fun; everything we need is there in an 18" four-wheel Titan hardshell carry-on and a lightweight "personal item" purse from Y-3, which comfortably fits both our laptop and DSLR.

Immediately after sending the pic, we were blasted with replies and emails wondering how we could pack so light and not be a backpacker or weekender. It's quite simple, really; practice makes perfect and we recently returned from three weeks around Thailand with almost the same set, except swapping a larger Filson Field Duffel for the Y-3 purse. In addition to practice, we pack by two rules: never roll or bunch anything (we fold flat and stack in a Flight 001 Spacepak) and if it all can't comfortably fit spaced out on a double bed, then some things still must be cut. Hey, all you people stuck in European airports all day long—why not turn the experience into a workout session? The obvious answer is probably because it'd be embarrassing, but a new series of quick airport workout videos, called "Squeeze It In," are determined to prove that the most basic (and effective) fitness routines can be fit into any schedule, even a hectic one full of airports and sitting in airplane seats.

We've only included one of the many videos available above, choose the "Carry-on curl" because it's something that Spirit Airlines will be paying $45 to do, since the fee for carry-ons is that much if paid at the airport. On the other hand, this exercise—and others like the "Turbulence Tap" and "First Class Flex"—does seem ideal for flight attendants who love themselves too many Cinnabons, or business travelers without even the time to hit the hotel gym.

The effects of the attempted terrorist attack on Northwest Flight 253 are definitely still being felt by air travelers today, but perhaps those most stuck by heightened security measures are passengers flying into the USA from Canada.

USA-bound flights from Canada are banning most carry-on luggage through 7pm today, in an effort to alleviate long lines and delayed flights thanks to longer security screenings. Hand-inspecting each passenger's personal items does take some time, after all. If you, or someone you know, is making the border jump today, you'd better take note of the 13 things that are allowed through security, which don't include magazines!
