Detroit: If Michael Cera Can Tour Detroit's Abandoned Train Station, We Wanna Go Too

Actor Micheal Cera, who took a break for a second from hanging out with his new posse The Cast of Jersey Shore, recently told MTV, "I've done a lot of stuff I'm really ashamed of" and when asked if it was illegal, he replied, "Yeah. And I'd rather not elaborate on that." Well, we know of at least one illegal activity Cera participated in while filming Youth in Revolt in Detroit—trespassing.
On Tuesday night he told Jimmy Fallon about a little trek he took through Detroit's abandoned train station. "We went in the abandoned train station, which you know about, we went in it, it was one of the scariest...There's this train station in Detroit that was designed by the guy that did Grand Central, y'know, that guy," he explained. "So its a beautiful structure and like, huge, but its been abandoned since '85 or something so its just filled with rubble and broken windows and we were in there because we were with a local who had gone in there since he was a kid, and well, we were in there we heard gun shots. So it sounded like the gun shots were coming from the bottom of the staircase we were descending and it was terrifying, but I think they were actually outside. So someone got shot and it was terrifying." Then he added the disclaimer: "don't go there, its not a tourist attraction or anything."
Of course, as soon as someone says, "don't go there", we're dying to check it out...

New Orleans: New Orleans Will Be The Star Of New HBO Drama 'Treme'

A new HBO series will feature some authentic N'awlins barbecue, or least it will feature some smoke from the grill. The series Treme, which is scheduled to debut this spring, is set in New Orleans immediately following Hurricane Katrina. The drama tells the story of the city’s recovery through fictional characters based on some of the real characters who lived through it. The series will also feature locals who know the culture of NOLA best, an important aspect to the series' creator, David Simon, whose other HBO series, The Wire, was known for its sometimes too realistic depiction of life in Baltimore.
One of those locals, Kermit Ruffins, will play himself in the pilot episode of the series. Ruffins can be found playing trumpet in New Orleans on just about any night of the week. And though no one would argue that this New Orleans native can sing and blow the horn, he brings a little something extra to each gig—his mobile barbecue rig.

Detroit: Right Now, Detroit Is Good For Tom Cruise And Barbecue

Yesterday, some Detroit residents may have thought the city was under seize based on the number of military vehicles and debris in the streets, but it was all just part of the latest movie shoot happening in the city. They were filming an elaborate explosion scene near Woodward Ave and Mack Ave for "Red Dawn," a remake of the 1984 classic starring Patrick Swayze.
“Red Dawn” has been filming in Michigan since last month at various locations and will reportedly continue through the beginning of December.
