Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport is gearing up to blow your mind...in terms of airport food. Just when travelers get used to running in to a Sbarro's, Cinnabon, or—if it's a fancier airport, a Starbucks with pastry case—great news like this comes along to brighten the day: MSP and Delta will begin work in January on whole new restaurants and dining options inside Concourse G.

All in all, it's to be a $2 billion renovation, states BizJournals. Hopefully sooner rather than later, we'll get to add a restaurant from Andrew Zimmern to our list of things to do on your layover at MSP. It's to be called Minni Bar, with a menu of globally-inspired sandwiches and who doesn't love sandwiches? Last night, while the country watched a new episode of 30 Rock, we took the elevator to the actual Top of the Rock for a party to celebrate the launch of the new Chase Sapphire, a traveler-centric rewards card. Chase has partnered up with The Travel Channel to promote the card, and as a result, the party was co-hosted by none other than Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmern.

Munching through multiple chocolate and praline-covered bacon strips with a sunset view of the city below, we managed to tackle both Bourdain and Zimmern to chat about some current travel trends. "Confessions of a Travel Writer" must have gone over even worse than we thought: According to the L.A. Times, Cox Communications is quietly selling off the Travel Channel, its only national cable network.

Cox grabbed the Travel Channel last year in a deal with Discovery, since which time its audience has grown some 35 percent among adults ages 25-54. (We'll call that the "Wistful Staycationers" cable package.) Is it just us, or did Andrew Zimmern kind of take this week off? Sure there was a new episode of Bizarre Foods, but it was decidedly un-bizarre; we'd eat all of it no problem.

Andrew was in Eastern Australia this week in what seemed like a less-intense mode after a rough time in the Outback. What we mean is, he went to the Sydney Opera House and Bondi Beach and ate Vegemite; is this "Bizarre Foods" or "Bridget's Sexiest Beaches"?

We will concede that he did find some bugs to eat, but even those were in a stir fry—not exactly the slimy and hardcore chewing we expect of Andrew. In all fairness, he does a great job as a not-so-crazy travel host, since he actually got us pretty excited about hitting up Oz for some tiger pie and Wagyu steak.

We're hoping to get our usual dose of gross eating next week when Zimmern heads to Singapore. Just promise us one thing, Z: no more steaks!
