The formerly industrial, now artsy neighborhood of Granville Island gets a lot of tourist traffic but it also draws locals shopping for anything pulled fresh from the ocean, the ground and the oven, thanks to the Public Market.

Of course, trawling through a market while traveling is one of life's greatest joys, even when you're not able to wrap up a whole salmon and shove it in your carry-on. We're not usually fans of guided tours but when a tour promises to introduce us to some of the best vendors of cheese, tea, bread, sausage and chocolate--and let us sample their wares--we're all over it.

A new airline might just be headed around the Great White North before too long, as WestJet eyes the possibility of sending some new planes into the skies as part of a brand new airline. Apparently they’re sick of losing business to Air Canada and Porter Airlines, so it might just be time to fight back.

By this time next year, the plans could be in place for WestJet’s new regional airline. It’s already going to cost you a little more to fly to Europe, but it also might take a little extra time on the way back. This week there have been plenty of reports about transatlantic flights back to the nifty fifty taking a little detour to our pals up north in Canada.

The problem has been some crazy intense headwinds that have caused certain airplanes to burn way more fuel than usual, making a stop in spots like Newfoundland and Labrador necessary to pick up a little more jet fuel. Believe it or not, airlines do like to show they care during the holiday season, some more than others of course. For example, Southwest will snap family photos right at your gate and Virgin Atlantic will be giftwrapping at several airports. Well, add an entire airport into the holiday cheer as Toronto-Pearson International offers to send carolers to meet the flight of your friends or family.

Yes, carolers will serenade the arriving passengers on a flight, if you tweet them to do so. Here's the details:

· The flight must be domestic and arriving to Toronto-Pearson between now and December 24.
· The flight must arrive between 3pm-8pm, except for the 24th when the hours are 6am-11am.
· Tweet @torontopearson with the person's name, flight number and flight date.

Amy Adams attracted some unwanted attention while collecting her luggage at Vancouver International Airport. The actress proved she's a master multi-tasker as she scolded the paparazzi while pushing her own luggage cart through the terminal.

Amy is in town to continue work on Superman: Man of Steel, which has moved from Chicago, where they were filming this summer, to Vancouver Island.

Earlier this week Amy's co-stars, Russell Crowe and Henry Cavill, were spotted filming on Main St in Ucluelet, where the cast will continue filming through Friday.

Russell Brand pulled a fast one on his Canadian fans this weekend when he claimed he wouldn't make it to a gig in Ontario due to a problems at customs. Russell was set to perform at the Casino Rama in Orillia on Saturday night but tweeted that he was going to be late because of a customs issue.
