The British band Supergrass's sweetly nostalgic video for their song "Low C" documents the mermaids who swim at Weeki Wachee Springs, near Tampa. After a long period of neglect, the nearly 60 year-old theme park is now owned by the newly created city of Weeki Wachee, nine residents strong and with a former mermaid as mayor. The theme park is fighting with the state to remain in existence, and the video dovetails nicely with the "Save Our Tails" campaign that's underway. Here's hoping the mermaids keep swimming for many more years.
