JetBlue Will Throw an Irish Celebration This Week at T5 at JFK

Live music is back this week at JFK thanks to JetBlue, but this time the music at Terminal 5 will be celebrating the holiday. As always you’ll need to be traveling to get access to the free concert, but you might also want to remember to wear a little bit of green.

Irish recording artist Julie Feeney is hitting the T5 stage live this Thursday—that’s St. Patrick’s Day—in the in the middle of the airport terminal. Aer Lingus and the tourism board of Ireland are partnering with JetBlue to bring passengers this week’s concert, so maybe they’ll even be passing out a few travel coupons or even some prizes like airfare to Dublin—maybe, just maybe?

Sorry Sarah McLachlan but there’s a new lady taking center stage in T5 at JFK next week. JetBlue’s concert series continues with Taylor Swift on Wednesday, October 27. She’s going to be in New York anyway for an appearance on Today and Letterman, so why not swing by and say hello to the traveling masses before jetting off to somewhere else on her media tour?

The only catch to this totally free concert is that you’ll need to be flying on JetBlue that day in order to see the show. So if you are flying out next week, you might want to get to the airport a little early.

The 2010 US Open is right around the corner—we’re talking about tennis not golf—which means the summer is coming to an end. NYC's Top Chefs Tapped by Delta to Open New Restaurants at LaGuardia

New York’s LaGuardia airport isn’t really known as a fine dining location—heck, there are three Au Bon Pains in one Terminal—but Delta is trying to change that image by pumping their main terminal with a little bit of cash. The airline wants to improve the eats, and they hope to do so by adding around 13 new options by this time next year.

OTG Management is in charge of the new restaurant concepts, and they’re teaming up with some of the city’s top chefs and restaurateurs to bring in something a little better than fried foodstuffs. Riad Nasr, Michael Lomonaco, and Dominick DeMarco are just some of the chefs that will work to better the food options.

JetBlue Will Kick Off Airport Concert Series with Sarah McLachlan

If you have a flight out of JetBlue’s T5 at JFK this Thursday, then you’re seriously in luck. The airline is putting on a free live concert within the terminal, and the concert will feature Sarah McLachlan as she kicks off her tour.

This week’s concert will be part of the Live from T5 concert series and will take place in the Marketplace at T5. It’s totally free, but there is one catch; it’s for ticketed JetBlue flyers only as it will be after the security checkpoint. However, for those following JetBlue on Facebook there might just be a way to win access to the concert without a ticket for a flight.

Everyone knows that New York City was baking in the summer sun earlier this week, and with the end of summer still far away there’s plenty of time to see triple digit temperatures again. One way to beat the heat is to head out of town, and if you’re doing so with the help of JetBlue, there’s now a great way to cool down at Terminal 5 at JFK.

Ben and Jerry's has installed one of their scoop shops to the terminal, and passengers will now be able to overindulge on Chubby Hubby and Cherry Garcia before heading out of the city. Just make sure to not overdo it, as we want you to leave room in case you're tempted to take those new JetBlue snack boxes for a test drive.
