To avid beer drinkers and expats, this super summer beverage might be pretty familiar; it's the Radler, a mix of light beer and lemonade which also goes by the names of panache in France and clara in Spain. Since lemonade never fails to refresh, the Radler is a way of both adapting beer for summer bingeing and offering a refreshing beverage.

Since Oktoberfest in Munich actually takes place in September and the city is usually still experiencing summer temperatures, tucking into a Radler is a way to continue drinking into dusk without suffering heatstroke and passing out from a combo of booze and sunlight. On a layover at the Munich airport, you have a lot of choices. For example, you can sup on pasta at Piazza Monaco or drink your dinner in Airbräu beer. And when it comes to Internet access, you can drive your own vehicle on the information superhighway or arrange to borrow someone else's.

The "Internet point" in the Munich Airport Center at Franz Josef Strauss Airport advertises fast broadband connections on airport computers for €5 an hour. (If you only want to use Microsoft Office, it's €4 an hour -- what are you, a Luddite?) Elsewhere, use your T-Mobile account to pick up WiFi (we got it in Terminal 1).

Hey, you try filming in a space this small.

Before we vomited our way through Oktoberfest a few weeks ago, we needed to get to Munich from Paris.

Since we sometimes hate flying, we decided to take one of those overnight trains and do it up baller-style by getting one of the sleeper cabins on DB's City Night Line.

Oktoberfest 2008 has come and gone--in Germany at least--but the memories will live on forever. Thankfully, the vomit is easy enough to wash away.

Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Corbin Bleu (destined to be voted Most Changed from the original "High School Musical") and Ashley Tisdale hold up celebratory cookies at the German premiere of "High School Musical: Senior Year" in Munich over the weekend. Director Kenny Ortega, whose biggest credit before helming the series was creating the beloved box-office bomb "Newsies," also walked the red carpet with them (but he was cookie-less).

The premiere was held at the Mathäser Filmpalast which later this month will host the domestic premiere of "Hellboy 2" and the new James Bond flick, "Ein Quantum Trost."

Sounds so much better than "Quantum of Solace," right?

The 2008 Oktoberfest in Munich finished up over the weekend, and one English man was extremely glad to be there. We're thinking he needs a few travel tips because to get to Munich from Portsmouth, England, he decided to catch a taxi.

To be fair, he did try to catch a plane first but missed his flight. Not wanting to miss the beer (and his buddy's buck's night), he persuaded a local cab driver to get him all the way to Munich for a fare of £1,700 (almost $3,000). And he paid in cash.

We're not recommending using this method of travel across Europe, but perhaps some of the European low-cost airlines could consider it as a back-up plan when their flights have some of those all-too-regular delays?

With the beer kegs ready to pour at Munich's Oktoberfest on Saturday, the big news in Bavaria is that the premier, Guenther Beckstein, says you can drink two liters of beer (well over 4 pints) and still drive back to your hotel or home.

With a local election looming mid-Oktoberfest, the media grabbed Beckstein's comment that you could drink two one-liter glasses of beer in two hours without a problem--but police, doctors and other politicians are politely disagreeing.

The premier has since gone back on his statement--saying it was a "rather unsuccessful contribution"--but it wouldn't have mattered much to budget travelers: Beer has become so much more expensive this year that two liters might be financially out of the question, even if it apparently won't make us too drunk to drive.
