The town was going to sponsor a festival this weekend titled "Whorehouse Days" to celebrate its heritage. Gilbert was known as a hotbed of prostitution and notorious saloons in the early part of the 20th century and organizers felt the name fitting.

Apparently the town's City Council didn't get the joke and killed the two-day bash.

Jeez, isn't there always one downer at every party?
