Now, we know you always get, uhh, different treatment on a Ryanair flight but, when we arrived at Bari Airport in Italian region of Puglia fresh off our recent flight, this is not what we were expecting to find.

A heath checkpoint solely for Ryanair passengers? A health checkpoint sponsored by Ryanair? A sanity test for the unfortunates disembarking from O'Leary-jet?

We didn't dare ask, lest we be subjected to the health check. And since we were unfortunate enough to be flying with British Airways, we didn't get to test it out, either. Maybe next time.

At least there's something that made us happy to be flying BA.

It might have started over in Romania when the local mayor wanted to encourage the birth rate, thus planting trees at the local humping hill so that couples could do what couples do with a bit of privacy. But in the Italian port town of Bari, someone's making money out of it all.

Giuseppe Foggetti is an astute businessman who realized that since young Italians often live with their parents until they're married, privacy for those private moments could be a problem. He created a "love park" where for a 3 Euro entry fee (a bit under $4) plus 1.50 Euros per half hour, young people can "make love with impunity." In the creator's own words:

My idea was to create a place for those who want to spend intimate moments together without thinking whether someone would be shocked if they saw it.

So next time you're catching a ferry from Bari to Greece, you know where to go if you can't get a private room at the youth hostel. Thanks Giuseppe!
