Like we said earlier, things do shut down if it’s or snowing or sleeting, but otherwise all attractions should be open most of the time throughout the holiday season. The 128-foot drop doesn’t take a day off, so it’s a great opportunity to take in one last theme park before the calendar switches over to 2011.
Adding to the coaster’s holiday fun factor is the park’s award winning Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival. Dollywood has been lit up since the beginning of November, and the party will continue until New Year’s Day. Workers have been busy since the fall as over four million lights twinkle on every building, tree, and lamp post within the park. Even if you’ve been to the park during the holidays before it’s worth one more visit, as you might want to say farewell to the 21 marching toy soldiers during the Babes in Toyland show which makes its final performance this season.
After dark, there’s even a fully lighted Christmas Parade, and the Polar Express book comes alive within a new 4D experience. Along with everything else Santa and his elves have set up shop at the park, several holiday musical numbers and shows are included with your park admission. Speaking of which, it’s going to set you back about $56, so take this weekend off from the shopping at the mall and hit the gift shops at the park.
