We think it's close enough to Labor Day now that squeezing in a few more summer cocktails is totally the way to go. Therefore. forget the typical lemonade-and-sweet-tea Arnold Palmer in favor of it's liquored-up and equally refreshing cousin, the John Daly.

Like the actual man Arnold Palmer, John Daly was a golfer who enjoyed cool drinks on the green, the only difference being his preference to have his spiked.

Essentially, the John Daly is your basic Arnold Palmer with a splash of vodka, but the recipe becomes something more complex and special with a visit to the New York City foodie haven Momofuku Ssäm Bar. As the lower-priced and more casual brother to the mecca Momofuku Ko, Ssäm Bar serves up a selection of cocktails on their late-night menu, and one of them just happens to be jazzied-up John Daly called the "Reverend Palmer."

Since the Momofuku restaurants are famous for changing up their menus with the seasons and chef's tastes, we recommend that you head there for a Reverend Palmer ASAP. But, if NYC isn't in the cards for you anytime soon, take solace in the fact that with a simple visit to a well-stocked liquor store, you too can try this take on an Arnold Palmer.

· In a tumbler, add 1 part sweet tea
· Stir in 1 part your favorite bourbon
· Stir in a dollop of lemon syrup
· Stir in Angostura Bitters to taste

Replicating the Momofuku recipe is not an exact science, since they use tea-infused Elijah Craig bourbon and aren't free with the exact amounts, but based on our knowledge of a John Daly, the above amounts should be pretty accurate. Bottoms up!
