Tucked in north-central Pennsylvania, Wellsboro is a quaint, unremarkable, and generally forgotten town. It's not easy to get to either. Not even a Greyhound Bus drives into the place. But it has one thing of note: the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, a deep gorge that cuts into the surrounding mountains. A trip to the canyon is a must for anyone who thought they wanted to be an archaeologist as a kid -- the place is littered with fossils.

Beyond that, there isn't much going for the town (unless you're dying to catch the ridiculous Dickens Festival in December that turns downtown into a Victorian village). Isn't fulfilling your childhood dream enough for one vacation?

Wellsboro Pa

Wellsboro is a forgotten town which is the very reason it is such a great vacation spot.  In the summer there is a huge festival called Laurel festival which brings folks from all over.  You can ride horses, ride ATVs, fish, hike or swim in the public lakes.  It is the most beautiful town I have ever seen.  It is peaceful and relaxing.  The only thing that is a little daunting is its lack of color.  (98.5% white), however the town seems gracious and welcoming to all visitors.  As for the Dickens festival, I think everyone can live without that---so don't go in the winter.

ya

it was a much better place before you people started coming in and finding its "beauty", go to galeton, they will enjoy the company...
