Are You Working?

November 4, 2008 at 8:30 AM | by egw | 0 Comments

"It's Her Move" but it's your night out, so let the Hills Season 4 Travel Map be your guide.

Previously: "It had been a long time since Spencer embarrassed Heidi in front of her bosses," warns the voiceover. Also, JustinBobby exerted a freaky pull over Audrina... again.

Hey, remember that Heidi has a job? She does! And this week she has a major responsibility working the opening of the latest Bolthouse project, XIV Restaurant. Sam Nazarian, from last season's Vegas denouement, is there to remind Heidi of how she screwed things up. Yet apparently she doesn't remember because she's planning to invite Spencer. "What's one more on the guest list... what's the harm?" she says to her coworker Kimberly, who appears to be ferociously biting her tongue. (Clearly she's seen the DVDs.)

At the party, Heidi invites a veritable entourage, gets mucho tequila in her system, and when Nazarian comes over to ask her if she's working she asks him, "Are you working?" Then Spencer offers him a shot. Of course he does. Also, Stephanie shows up in a leopard-print "Auntie Mame" coat and that's probably visually offensive to the guests.

You can even see it in her eyes that she knows she's made an oopsie, but we cut away from the rest of the party, so who knows what else went wrong. The next day, Boss Brent calls Kimberly in and gives her the sweet moment of vengeance she has been waiting for:

BRENT: Was Heidi wasted?

KIMBERLY: Um... I don't think so.

When confronted by Brent, her excuse is, "We were working so hard and everything was fine." She keeps interrupting him, but the boss has had enough, and Heidi is fired. And you know what? Good.

While New York is experiencing the Great Media Die-Off, while the LA Times and GM and freaking eBay are all going through massive layoffs, it is incomprehensible that this twit has a job she applied to hoping it was part-time! We'd would rather see her annoy Spencer to death on the couch. Now where did we put our smelling-salts?

Meanwhile, as spoiled last week to make us all keep watching, Audrina announces she's moving out, and even though it isn't anyone's fault Lauren feels vaguely guilty. She tells Lauren she found a new place and JustinBobby will come and visit... but she tells JustinBobby "I don't know if I want to live with myself, you know what I mean?" Well, Audrina, here's someone you could live with:

Your sister Casey, who comes for a tour of the home Audrina can't wait to decorate "all romantic and flowy and white" and "put candles everywhere." If you're hoping a change of scene will improve your relationship, clearly you are 12. When Audrina and JustinBobby come to Heidi's shindig, Spencer tells them, punctuating it with kisses, that moving in with Heidi "was the greatest thing that ever happened to [him]," a moment of pure sentiment which only gives us more misgivings.

Anyway, JustinBobby ("A man so great, he needed two names"--Lo) doesn't help Audrina move or commit to moving in, because he'd prefer to "just let it happen how it happens." But she and Lauren have a "Golden Girls" moment amid all the boxes, and it's bittersweet, even though they promise their separation is "just to be continued." Since there appears to be no new "Hills" episode next week, we suspect that is where our judgment will have to rest.
