We're shocked. This week on "The Hills" was like a backdoor pilot for "The City." Those sneaks! Whitney and Lauren> are dispatched to New York for Fashion Week. People's Revolution has taken on some extra shows, one of which--Buckler--just happens to feature Alex, Whitney's male-model buddy from earlier in the season. As Kelly Cutrone promises, "Your best friend [Lauren]'s probably going to see him in his underwear. A lot."
But who cares about fashion? Let's party! Whitney gets a tip from another male model about a hot concert and ends up awkwardly flirting with a singer named Jay by razzing him about his roommate:
Luckily, apparently he prefers supremely awkward girls. Must be a factor of being Australian:
And Alex, last trip's model, got all sulky--but what was he going to do? There's a smorgasbord of hot men available in this unreal New York.
Meanwhile, Spencer and Heidi went out in LA and "coincidentally" spotted Brent Bolthouse, Heidi's former boss. He said he wouldn't, but The Spence went over to talk to Brent and beg him for Heidi's job back. Otherwise, she'll be at home in "his office" putting on lip gloss to work on her resume every day, and we can't have that!
Brent pretty thoroughly tells him off (but not thoroughly enough, as we see in the previews for next episode), telling Spencer "I don't really understand why you come around every time there's problems" and Heidi "You can't just, like, have people like that around you in your life." It's so cute how MTV pretends like these trust-fund babies are really worried about their futures instead of being content to skate along like the rest of us.
Next week: Heidi gets her second chance and the new resident of the Chatheau is... Holly?!
