The problem with this kind of reality show is that it's going to require a lot of fake drama to become interesting. Have you ever skulked around a department store just for fun? No? Ok, well we have and we once worked retail. The only time shizz gets interesting is when someone demands a refund or if an article of clothing is not available in their size. So expect plenty of fake "Omg, socialite of the minute needs a dress from us for tonight but we sent it to the wrong address" types of plotlines.
But what is more worrisome to us is now that Fred Segal will be overrun by cameras, where will you shop in Santa Monica? Half of the boutiques on Montana Avenue have gone out of business thanks to the recession and the Santa Monica Place is still under major construction. Leaving us with only the heavily-trafficked Third Street Promenade and its various chain stores. We guess this summer we'll just be hitting up the various garage sales on Santa Monica's residential streets. Bummer.
