Where the designers of Project Runway "make it work."

Project Runway Map: Prom Dresses Are, Like, Important

It's never too early to start thinking about the prom. In fact, we saw a magazine in a bookstore the other day solely devoted to the latest teen prom trends. Even if prom is about five months away.

So Wednesday's episode of Project Runway about designing prom dresses for Catholic school girls from New Jersey is not really that out of sync. But maybe the Jersey part is. Why couldn't they pick some Upper East Side Gossip Girls to dress?

Whatever the reason, the designers bring in their "clients" to the showroom to talk about what kind of designs they want. Immediately, Christian cannot stand his client, who has her own ideas about what to wear to prom. This is pretty much the big drama of the episode--and who really should have won.

In the end, Kevin gets auf'd for designing a cheap-looking, unimaginative dress. We like Kevin but seriously that dress has already been designed by Forever21 in multiple colors.

Victorya wins out with her short bubble-hemmed, bejeweled frock although many PJ fans think Sweet Pea's champagne-colored dress was a good fit for prom.

Since the episode was really about a Jersey prom, we picked a well-known destination for after-prom parties. You know, the kind where kids steal the keys to their family's beach house, drive down the Parkway to the Jersey Shore, split 12-packs of Milwaukee's Best and play Asshole all night long. Oh wait, that was just our after-prom party. Ahh... We can still hear the Montel Jordan playing in the background!

Nevertheless, come the end of May, Jersey school kids will be packing up their Jeep Wranglers (are those still cool?) and heading down to the shore to party after the prom where they will maybe, possibly think about doing it in their best friend's little brother's bunk bed and then washing down the experience with a hot ham, egg and cheese sandwich. High school--so fun!
