Just where in the world is LOST? Each episode, we're looking at the real and fictional locations of LOST from a travel perspective, and plotting them on our Google map. Be sure to check out all the map points, updated weekly!

MYSTERIOUS ISLAND STATUES
If you are looking for an extremely remote vacation destination, we'd recommend one of the loneliest places on earth: Easter Island. It's pretty isolated, with the closest chunk of land, the Pitcairn Islands, almost 1,200 miles to the west. Besides the famous giant statues, visitors may enjoy surfing, hiking and scuba diving. You may not run into Sawyer and the rest of the gang, but you'll feel like you are lost on your own island.

TREASURE HUNTING TRAVEL
Even though Sawyer was bluffing, a treasure-hunting sailing trip in the South Pacific sounds like a terrific idea. While we didn't find any of the sailing variety, the Travel Channel site has a few options for anyone who'd rather spend time hunting for gems, fossils and precious metals. We'll stick to the beach, thank you.

SUBMARINES
All the talk about taking the submarine back and forth to Tahiti had us wondering if subs would make for good vacation travel. While no large scale operation exists yet, there are a few options for travelers looking for something unique. Try US Submarines for your very own luxury sub, or check out undersea adventures in Roatan.
