OMG! "Hills" Spinoff Preview Surfaces on Aftershow

We almost never watch "The Hills" Aftershow, an MTV.com feature in which one of the cast members from "The Hills" basically refutes everything we just saw with our own eyes. But if we had last night, we would've caught this preview for the long-awaited Whitney Port spin-off, still burdened with the name "The City" but peopled with Manhattan socialite Olivia Palermo, soon-to-be-former boss Kelly Cutrone and Diane von Furstenberg.

The plot appears to be as follows: Whitney moves to New York to take a big leap forward in her career and ascends to the stars, but not without difficulties. And the boys! Are those guys really going to get into a fistfight while Whit watches?

But the real question is: "Gossip Girl" has managed to strike a balance between uptown buttoned-up favorites and the downtown haunts the cool kids really frequent. Will Whitney be an uptown girl or a downtown diva? Or will MTV mangle New York geography as badly as they have LA's to create a seamless whole, a simulacrum of the Big Apple?

These are the questions that will keep us up at night before the show's alleged December 29 premiere. Will you be watching?

Is it terrible that...

This kinda looks good to me? I mean, at least the people in New York seem to keep their mouths shut when they aren't speaking, which is more than you can say for 90 percent of the kids on "The Hills."
