Earlier this week, tech gossip rag Valleywag reported Natalie Portman was recently touring around Silicon Valley in search of funding for a new project.
What new project? Natalie Portman wants to lifecast herself.
Why does all this sound so familiar? Luckily for Natalie she has a nice proof of concept to show her squires. We hear they like 10 slide presentations that run 20 minutes long and use a 30 point font. Yeah, looks like we even named here lifecast for her--Chasing Natalie. So many reactions to this.
First, no way this is true. Second, why on earth does she need venture capital backing for this? Third, it is going to be tough for Natalie to do a better job following herself around than the city of Toronto did following her around their fine town last spring. We were left with a unique travel guide to Toronto created by masses of Toronto tipsters, Natalie gawkers, movie set extras, set mothers, and us.
Oh, and those Jaunted tipsters in Toronto? They are not finished yet. This appeared in our mailbox last night:

2006 Awards: Best Map: Chasing Natalie
Sure, it started off as a mad dash to plot all the Toronto places and points Natalie Portman, Dustin Hoffman and other stars filming in TO this spring were spotted, but it ended up being something more--a unique travel guide to Toronto created by masses of Toronto tipsters, movie set extras, set mothers, and us. You aren't gonna find that at your local Borders Books now are you?
What did learn from this? So much, but the main point, er or the one thing Toronto folks would want us to pass on to you is this: There is more to TO than just Yorkville.
Thanks again to everyone in Toronto, who helped us keep track of sightings, filming locations, wanderings, and the best and worst of Toronto's hot spots. The folks in Toronto just got what we were trying to do straight away, which was very cool.
British babe and fashion darling Sienna Miller, who's filming Camille in scenic Niagara Falls with James Franco, slipped away this past weekend for a break in Toronto. The two were spotted prowling the streets of Yorkville, despondent that Dustin Hoffman was no longer filming there. Oh, and Natalie Portman's left as well.
Strangely, Miller was just in Toronto, taking an entirely different break with on-again-off-again flame Jude Law, who's currently in NYC filming Blueberry Nights. Jude wasted no time booking them a $5,000-a night suite at an unnamed "downtown hotel"--likely the Four Seasons, where Natalie Portman camped out. With this many stars, Toronto can sub for L.A. juts as well as it can for NYC.
For the past eleven weeks, Jaunted, with a huge assist from the people who live in TO, has chased Natalie Portman and her Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium cast and crew all over the great city of Toronto. Our goal was not to stalk, but to plot. We hoped that by plotting all the different places the cast and crew filmed, partied, ate, slept, shopped, played, and dog-walked, we would be able to bring you a unique look at Toronto.
Did we accomplish our goal of creating a real-time "A-Lister's Travel Guide to Toronto"? Who knows. Have a click around our Chasing Natalie stories and map plot points and see what you think.
What we do know is this: Natalie Portman has left the building. Sure she might show up to wrap up loose ends, or film another movie, but she and the rest of her crew have wrapped.
The filming wrapped in the last couple of days, shooting some of their final scenes at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel.

Last call for Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium cast outings up in Hollywood North, according to our favorite on set den mother:
All of the Emporium scenes are done. There are 3 off set location left but aside from a few days of B camera work, (just shots of location no cast involved) they are wrapped. June 11th is the last day of cast filming.
According to our sources, the most recent filming locations have been on Toronto area beaches--yes there are such things. So, for old times sake, T.O. residents and visitors need to search every Toronto hen house, out house, beach house and dog house to try and find out what the cast and crew are doing during their last days of filming. One more trip to Mr. Tastys anyone?

I walked by them filming at Allen Gardens at Jarvis and Gerrard, last weekend. Dustin was just walking around, all made with his crazy hair. My boyfriend and I went up to say "Hello" to him and he was very nice and sweet. Do you know if they are still in town?

I just wanna say that I saw Natalie Portman walking on the sidewalk with a well-dressed black gentleman at approximately 11pm on Thursday 25th of May near the corner of Queen and Dufferin.
I almost didn't recognize her but when I did I couldn't even say anything... I just watched her walk right by me and then walk away. :)

This week's Chasing Natalie update teaches us another Hollywood term--"turn around". Turn around means instead of having weekends off you work all weekend and get two week days off. So yesterday and today the cast and crew filming Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium were off. They will be following this schedule until the film wraps early in June.
While Natalie may or may not still be in Toronto, she certainly isn't wasting her "turnaround days"--jetting off to New York to spend some quality time with Brokeback Jake, who may or may not be her new boyfriend. Guess she has ditched her Toronto mystery man.
Back in TO, we know Jason Bateman is still roaming around town, but there is no word on Dustin's hunt for the best underwear in Toronto, or what off set locations remain on the production schedule. However, time is of the essence folks. Filming is coming to an end, which means so is our Chasing Natalie travel guide, so get those sightings, locations, and hot Toronto spots in to us ASAP.

10 days between Chasing Natalie updates made us think that Natalie, Dustin, and the rest of Hollywood North may have packed things up a couple weeks before their stated June 6th done date, or at least that Dustin Hoffman had finally stopped his search for the best underwear in Toronto, but not so fast.
Today we received multiple emails (which counts as double confirmation in our world) stating that Natalie Portman has been filming at Gerrard St. E and Coxwell Avenue the last couple of days.
The Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium shoot does not have many off site filming opps, so if you wanna catch a glimpse, you may want to head down there soon.
Oh, and as usual the weekend is upon us, which means the cast and crew should be out sampling the finest Toronto has to offer. Snagging a photo and sending it in before filming leaves town will be rewarded with a virtual gold star. Have a good weekend T.O.

Today's update has the cast and crew of Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium hitting the Apothecary for a little pre Cinco de Mayo booze fest, a toy building contest at the Ontario Science Centre, and of course, Natalie cruising the streets with her Fabio look alike. What? Fabio is blonde and he is sex on legs, right? C'mon, you obviously never saw Fabio taking a bird to the face at 70 mph, because if you did, we would win this argument.
