Episode 10

Another non-elimination round, but this episode was action packed nonetheless. An Aussie tries to take Monica home with him, Eric tries to pick up Monica, Tyler tries to pick up Eric, Doug Bruebaker tries to pick up Yolanda, and Psych-Jo inches one step closer to that straight jacket. To think, back in March we thought Lake was cast as the crazy guy--shows what we know.

It was go time in Freemantle, and right away the teams started bickering. The central figures in this mid-race feud? The Hippies and MoJo. While waiting for the Perth Swan Bells, Tyler appeared to be trying to start a rumor that Eric and Monica were getting a little too close. Jealousy? Short term memory loss? Hard tellin', but MoMo did not take kindly to the rumor. The next morning, E & J tried to gain the upper hand by ordering a cab under the name Doug Bruebaker and subsequently canceling the cab request made by RaYo and the Hips. As usual, E & J ended up fooling themselves as well, so MoJo took the brunt of the blame when the predictable finger pointing started at the airport. Bruebaker and Jablome pretty much escaped unscathed, and the pacifist hippies were now completely ready to yield MoJo if the opportunity presented itself.

The teams arrived at Crocodylus Park near Darwin Australia amidst much inner race tension. As they waited for the croc park to open, Tyler once again floated his "Eric loves Monica" theory. Eric handled it like we knew he would, saying "I'm going to put some meat around Joseph." Aside from BJ and Tyler dressing for the croc pit like they were going to H.O.R.D.E., the whole crocodile crossing was a bit of a non starter--teams just marched in and got their clues.

Next up, it was off to Batchelor Airfield where the now infamous yielding took place. Yes Monica cried, yes Psych-Jo was scary, but the most jaw dropping part of the whole yield experience was Tyler's reaction. He talked about how "intense" it is to yield someone and was completely apologetic for the yield. Huh? All he has talked about for the past two weeks is "yield hunting season." C'mon Tyler, it is a game dude, win or go home.

Following a brief stop at the magnetic termite mounds of Litchfield National Park, the Hips and E & J headed for a 1 mile swim down a spider infested river at Buley Rockhole, while RaYo and MoJo headed to the Lost City to blow a dijeridu. The dijeridu was the quicker detour, which allowed Ray and Yolanda to coast in for their first leg victory. Phil rewarded them with a pair of Benzs--not bad. The three remaining teams engaged in an entertaining foot race to Phil; however, the end was bittersweet, as Phil let the hips live to see another leg. TTOW is getting old--send 'em home Phil.

America's Moment of Shame:

The Hippies:Wearing goofy hats into croc pits, and any time they shouted TTOW.

Final Thoughts:

Doug Bruebaker? Classic.
