Our loveable group of Phineas Fogg wannabes started off this leg racing to Seeb International Airport, in Muscat, Oman. The arrival of some sort of King spoiled any hopes for an early lead that Frankenbarry had--a bad Oman for sure. (c'mon, give it to us) While most of the teams were slowed by traffic, the happy hippies hardly noticed. They spent their time flitting around Muscat gas stations trolling for guys. The hips finally picked up an unlucky bloke named Abdul Hamid. This poor guy had to endure the hippies for the better part of an hour before he was dropped off. At the drop-off, Abdul gave Tyler a peck on the cheek and then BJ cut in for the real action, declaring he wants "some of that Bedouin lovin'" before the two men briefly touched lips. It should come as no shock that this is what the CBS website has to say about these two:
One of their most memorable moments was starting a dance party in the streets of downtown Guilin, China, which turned into a mass gathering of hundreds of Chinese men.
Once at the airport, all the teams end up on the same flight to Perth, and after touchdown, it is off to Kings Park & Botanic Garden where the State War Memorial served as clue central. At the monument, the teams are informed that Rottnest Island, off Fremantle's coast, will be their next locale. An early morning ferry forces teams to spend the night at a Fremantle hostel. Jeremy quickly reminds Eric that he is the power bottom before they retire for the evening, while Frankebarry, fresh off a cycle of HGH, head into their room, aptly named the "pleasure dome". Noticing the happy couple will have hostel-mates for the night, Barry quips "This race has ruined our sex life, I'll tell you that." Did you have to say that Barry? We know what 'roids can do to your equipment.
The following day, the teams hop the first Eagle Express Ferry to Rottnest where they rent tandem bikes and head toward the island lighthouse. While the tandem bike scene was absolutely hilarious, courtesy of Joseph going all Charlie Sheen on Monica, the real surprise of the morning bike ride was Barry. Did you see that guy? He was like Lance Armstrong, except he didn't break a sweat. Barry followed up his amazing bike with an amazing beach brush drag. The man lifted what looked like heavy brush without a whimper. HGH, testosterone, the clear, the cream, what in the world did this guy use in Oman? Meanwhile, the lads were diving for crayfish in what they dubbed "amazing speedos". Shockingly, Monica looked incredibly un-hot in whatever godawful bathing suit Phil made her wear on the crayfish hunt. Our Tivo even suggested she might be packing quite a trunk, but we told our Tivo to shut up. It was Phil's incredibly shortsighted choice of swimwear that was doing Mo such television injustice. Phil, if you can find speedos for the guys, why can't you find a nice bikini for the girls?
Next up was an incredibly cool trip to the Fremantle Prison, where the teams had to perform their own prison break. The building, which was closed to inmates in 1991, comes complete with an underground system of tunnels to help deliver water to the Fremantle area. The racers jumped in canoes to search for their final clue in the underground prison rivers--how sick is that? In the end, the clock struck midnight on Frankebarry. We knew when Phil informed us that the pit stop was only 1.5 miles from the prison that F & B were in a world of hurt. As we said before, the longer the drive to the pit stop, the better F & B's chances. So now we are down to the final four, and barring any unforeseen circumstances, we feel fairly confident we could name the final three right now. But as they say, that's why they play the game.
