Racers are in the West African nation of Burkina Faso, known for its music, art and dance. Their first task is to find a tribal chief to receive their clue and a gift of generosity, which turns out to be a chicken. The chicken must be put in a mesh bag and carried with the racers until the pit stop. As the clue states, "no chicken, no check-in."
All the teams manage to collect the clue and capture their chickens--even Lorena, who has a bad record with livestock lately. In the middle of all the race hustle, Hendekea decides she needs to go potty, making Azaria sit outside and shake his head while other teams whiz by. Yes, we said whiz.
The next clue reveals the Detour: Shake Your Pan or Shake Your Booty. In Shake Your Pan, teams must hunt for gold using a traditional mining pan. In Shake Your Booty, teams must learn a traditional tribal dance and be judged by a local celebrity panel.
Nate and Jennifer are excited by the dancing challenge because Jennifer was an LA Clippers Dancer, which means she can shake her booty (and that she's dumber than a mud fence). They manage to get the ten minute penalty for no creativity, while Christina and Ron, also known as "Dances With Hernia", flail around to no avail and also get the thumbs-down. Kynt and Vyxsin tear it up, and nail the dance challenge like pros. Meanwhile, Azaria and Hendekea go all Dance Dance Revolution on their asses and slam through the challenge with flying colors. The Blondes manage to pass the dance challenge with the Lamest. Dance. Ever. But, they're blonde, so...ZOMG! Right?!
Back at the creepy old mine, Shaggy and Scooby, er, Prospector Pete and his grandson Nick are furiously panning away, and they would have gotten away with it too if it weren't for those meddling kids TK and Rachel, who are also digging for gold. It's slow work, but it pays off in the end for both teams. The next clue has all of the racers taking a taxi to the Tampouy Goat Market and the Roadblock.
The Blondes utilize the first of two U-Turns on the race and send Jason and Lorena back to complete another challenge. Much like the Yield in season's past, the U-Turn delay could give a huge advantage to the team that uses it or could backfire and cause karma problems in the future. Lorena and Jason take the setback in stride and head back to pan for gold, which they seem to finish in 30 seconds flat. They stay positive and hopeful--a far cry from last week when Lorena went all Linda Blair during the camel milking challenge.
The Roadblock at the Tampouy Goat Market has teams loading up a bike with lots of random junk like tea kettles, gas cans and a live goat, then biking to a specific vendor to exchange their goods for their next clue, which directs them to this week's Pit Stop at the Hotel DeVille in Ouaga. Teams must arrive on the mat with their chickens in order to check in, and all have their fowl in tow.

PIT STOP
Once again, Azaria and Hendekea manage to get to the mat first, despite Hendekea's bathroom break. Jennifer and Nate come in at a very close second with Jennifer bitching about Azaria and Hendekea winning AGAIN and how they have already won twice before. Honey, this is a race, not a politeness contest. Bringing up third place are Christina, Ron and his hernia.
Kynt and Vyxsin are this race's Energizer Bunnies, coming in fifth. Vyxsin shows her softer side, crying while describing life in Burkina Faso and the things they've seen--and proving once again that her eyeliner will not streak under any circumstances.
OUSTED
Old Man Keoghan sends Lorena and Jason packing, completely demolished by those sneaky Blondes and their treacherous U-Turn. Still, Lorena says, "Money doesn't make you wealthy."
It doesn't?
NEXT WEEK
Watch Ron and his hernia make a spectacular fall, while the Blondes approach an emotional meltdown and a nasty reunion with the karma train, this time in the form of a bus. Don't miss a single delicious minute and be sure to join us next week!
