Wikipedia--The New Lonely Planet?

Wikipedia is your go-to source for information, right? Let's say you want to learn about the start of World War One in...uh...1947. Wait, that's not right. Nevermind--Wikipedia is still a solid first source. And now they hope to be your first source before you travel.
Next week Jimmy Wales & Co. are set to unveil travel guides based on information from Wikia, the collection of country factoids on Wikipedia. We're not sure if this is the same project as wikitravel, however. In any case, it could be good, in that travelers are always looking for local knowledge. If there are people who are experts on ColecoVision and post about it, there will surely be a critical mass who know the ins and outs of the bar scene in Dubrovnik, too. And since Wikipedia is almost always right, you won't end up searching for a nonexistent bar. Well, it's 70% likely to exist, at least. We like those odds!
UPDATE: The Guides are meant to be called World Wikia. Makes sense to us!
