Where to Go with Your Tax Refund: Las Vegas
Tax day is coming, and you are excited not because you look forward to sifting through receipts and credit card statements, but because you're getting a fat refund...probably. The economy may be on its way back up, but you should try to stretch that tax refund as far as you can.
Tax Day has come and gone, and now you're finally ready to spend that refund. What better place to squander your extra cash than Las Vegas? Whether you hit a fine-dining restaurant or the casino, there are plenty of places to blow cash.

New Airline on the Block 'LV Air' Looks to Link Vegas and NYC
So far 2011 seems to be a big year for new airlines to start expanding and announcing new routes. Vision Airlines started the year off with a bang, and now it looks like another carrier is testing the waters. New York-based gamblers are in for a treat, as the brandy new LV Air is looking to link the Big Apple with Sin City sooner rather than later.
The new service will be a regularly scheduled charter operation, and they’re thinking about using some wide body aircraft—that means plenty of seats to and from the two cities. They’re hopeing there’s enough demand to run four flights per day, but we’ll have to wait and see if that’s actually the case. Will they be 2011's Jet America? God we hope not.

How $1,000 Can Cross Off 'Fly on a Private Jet to Vegas' from Your Bucket List
Attention: there's a new private jets company out there, called JetSuite. So what, right? There's like, a billion others and we can't afford a single one of them. Well, JetSuite was started by some of the founding members of JetBlue, which explains the similar name, but they've also got a package to Las Vegas that could be doable, if you and your friends want to splash out a bit.
JetSuite is calling it the "Ultimate Las Vegas Getaway," and yeahit would be pretty sweet to be one of the people on one of the many private jets that land at McCarran. For four people to depart on one of JetSuite's Embraer Phenom 100 jets (with an interior designed by BMW) from the LA area, plus transportation to the airport, plus a two-night stay in a two-bedroom Parlor Suite and additional connecting room at the Wynn Las Vegas, it's a TOTAL of $3,799. Make an even $4K when you add in some champagne. That's 1K each.

How to Interact with a Human Statue

Dude above is making bankcheck out his "tips" lining the railing.
Above is one of the human statues that are to be found all around the Strip in Las Vegas, or for that matter, anywhere with a steady stream of tourists with coins jiggling in their pockets. This guy at The Venetianimitating a generic Italian historical figure (we thought maybe Dante, then thought better)is someone making a living from just standing still and being entertaining for doing just that.
We've seen human statues all over the world (the greatest concentration seems to be on Barcelona's Las Ramblas), and we've seen tourists make complete asses of themselves in the attempt to tip and get a photograph with the statue. So, for your future reference, we present:
The Etiquette of Interacting with a Human Statue.

The Three Travel-Themed Slot Machines of Las Vegas Casinos
Thanks to the blizzard in the Northeast that hit just after Christmas, we were stuck in Las Vegas, which, as any visitor who has spent more than 3 days there and wandered off the Strip knows, is a very small town. We got bored, and fast. Thanks to our boredom, however, we started picking up on the details of the city, like all the slot machines with quirky themes.
And in and amongst all the "Cougarlicious" and "the Monkees"-themed machines, we tracked down the only ones that mattered: the Three Travel-Themed Slot Machines Found in Las Vegas Casinos...
