Donald Trump Busts Out a Lawsuit Against Palm Beach Airport

July 26, 2010 at 10:47 AM | by | Comments (0)

We love airports, but we realize that they can be pretty darn noisy both inside and out. Although checking out all the different planes would be appealing, we do recognize that the airport wouldn’t be an ideal location if we owned a mega mansion. Donald Trump is facing this very problem, and that’s why he is getting all legal on Palm Beach International Airport.

The Donald feels that the airport makes too much noise, and all those pesky airplanes are causing too much of a disturbance above his home at Mar-a-Lago. The best way to deal with the situation is obviously to file a lawsuit, and that’s exactly what he’s doing.

Anchors Aweigh, Tiger Woods! His Yacht 'Privacy' Is Ready To Go

December 14, 2009 at 9:33 AM | by | Comments (0)

Where in the world is Tiger Woods? Well, he's either still attempting to lay low at his mansion outside of Orlando, or he's en route to North Palm Beach to board his $22 million dollar, 155-foot yacht, ironically named the "Privacy." The Examiner reports that the boat, purchased in 2004 and picked out by Tiger's then fiance, now wife Elin Nordegren, spent the weekend being stocked with supplies and having its name covered up by a tarp thrown over the stern.

Someone doesn't want people to know that he's on the run. And of course Tiger will be hiding out in style. The Privacy sleeps 21 in its many bedrooms with walls of white silk., although Tiger will probably set sail solo. In addition, the boat has an 8-person jacuzzi, a gym, a theater projection system, a gourmet kitchen with espresso maker, BBQ grill, two Vespa scooters, a scuba center, and an elevator.

Bernie Madoff Taking Palm Beach Down With Him

Where: 315 Worth Ave [map], Palm Beach, FL, United States, 33480
April 15, 2009 at 11:33 AM | by | Comment (1)

Right now disgraced faux-financier Bernie Madoff is cooling his heels in an undisclosed jail (probably to keep the pitchforked masses from descending). But if he were allowed to walk free, he'd pretty much have nowhere to go anyway: Not only is his Manhattan penthouse on sale and several of his toys seized, he's now being blamed for bringing down his second home of Palm Beach as well. It's true, you can't go home again.

The penthouse was quietly put up for sale in January, around the time Madoff was first confined to house arrest there. (Well, that's gotta be awkward!) But his Palm Beach pad has been seized by the feds to help repay the people he swindled, as was a yacht and an Aston Martin he gave to his brother Peter last year. As if that wasn't bad enough, the Florida mansion has dropped some 20 percent in value since being assessed last year, adding untold hours to the time Madoff will spend making license plates in the clink.

Fall TV 2008: "Privileged" Is "Gossip Girl" with More Bikinis

August 29, 2008 at 1:00 PM | by | Comments (0)

Jaunted is planning our fall travel with some help from the networks. Check out our Fall TV 2008 Map to go where your new favorite characters go.

What if the Gossip Girls were shipped to sunny Florida? That's the rough premise behind the CW's new series "Privileged" (Sept. 9, 9 pm), starring Joanna Garcia (left) as an Ivy League-educated tutor to two filthy rich and spoiled orphans (Ashley Newbrough and Lucy Hale of last year's "Bionic Woman" remake).

The series, based on the Zoey Dean novel How To Teach Filthy Rich Girls, is set in Florida, where the girls' grandmother (Anne Archer, Michael Douglas' wife in "Fatal Attraction") is raising them. But it's shot in SoCal, which is how "Hills" star Lauren Conrad was able to film a guest spot earlier this week.

Colin Farrell Thumbs It

September 13, 2005 at 9:36 AM | by | Comments (0)

Oh, Colin Farrell, what were you thinking? Maybe back in Boho (?) Ireland it's still easy to thumb it when you're wasted and need to get from point A to point B, but in the U.S., not so much...Didn't you see 'Something About Mary'? A cardinal rule of road travel is to avoid hitchhiking.

The NY Post reports that party boy Farrell was hanging out in Palm Beach and got hella crunk, then had to get back to the Breakers later that night. Call a cab? His driver? Nah....just hitchhike, great idea Colin! The Post's tipster picked him up and said he "looked really wasted".

The best part: he invited his female driver back up to his room (of course). She intelligently declined.
