Keith Urban took a break from his new duties as American Idol host this morning to escort his two daughters to Nice, France, where their mom, Nicole Kidman, is playing Grace Kelly in Grace of Monaco.

Despite the long flight from L.A., Sunday Rose and Grace Margaret looked bright-eyed walking through the Nice airport with their dad.

The whole family will be back in New York City Wednesday, when Nicole will be honored by the New York Film Festival. The event, which will be held at Alice Tully Hall, will include an on stage conversation with Kidman and a screening of her upcoming movie, The Paperboy. The Approach to Nice Airport is Pretty...Nice

Where: Nice, France
February 29, 2012 at 2:29 PM | by | Comments (0)

Nothing says glam quite like the French Riviera, so itís fitting that Nice Airport—while it may be small—is beautifully formed. From the airport buildings that look like a grand hotel to the palm trees by where the planes parked, arriving there is all rather glamorous, but the most glamorous part of all is the runway itself.

See, Nice airport is right on the coast—the runway is actually built out in the sea—so landing there, if youíre on the right side, gives the impression youíre in a seaplane. Luckily, we had a hunch and chose our side well; a nice blast of adrenaline as you come in to land over the water, and a nice surge of prettiness as you land with the wing practically skimming the Mediterranean. Views of the surrounding coastline arenít half bad either.

Hugh Grant and Elzabeth Hurley prove that exes can still be friends. Ten years after their infamous break-up, Hugh flew to Nice, France to hang out with Liz, her son Damien (who greeted him at the airport), and her husband Arun Nayar.

Not long ago, Hurley addressed her relationship with Grant, saying, "Sometimes Hugh and I can get morbid and say we could have had five children by now because we were together since we were 21 but there was never a time when either of us wanted it."

The Daily Mail reports that Liz's family and a group of their close friends are currently staying at Elton John's villa in the French Riviera.

Leonardo DiCaprio: King of the Travel Pillows?

Where: Nice, France
September 2, 2009 at 8:39 AM | by | Comments (0)

Despite what we may think about some of the new-fangled Travel Pillows out there on the market, it seems that the good old-fashioned neck pillow remains the most popular.

Leonard DiCaprio, taking a vacation from filming in Paris, was spotted at the Nice airport in France with him mom and with his travel neck pillow attached to his backpack. We're just happy he wasn't still wearing it after deplaning, like this passenger did. And thank god it's not a Komfort Kollar.

Interested in buying a travel pillow? Brookstone, a store that sells stuff you really don't need but is ever-present at airports and stocked with travel gear, sells a Tempurpedic Transit Pillow for $75. Flight 001 has a cheaper one for $16. Or you can upgrade to a vibrating neck pillow for $34.

Time to print out some new passports: Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon Jolie-Pitt were born yesterday in Nice, France. Mom and twins, who stunned the world by failing to be born when Entertainment Tonight! said they would, were doing fine according to a statement by the mayor of Nice.

Vivienne and Knox join their four siblings, adoptees from Cambodia, Ethiopia and Vietnam and a biological sister who was born in Namibia. Now they're only three bodies away from being able to field their own World Cup soccer team.

Super World Travelers Baby Watch: World Fixated on Jolie's Belly

Where: Nice, France
July 2, 2008 at 8:45 AM | by | Comments (0)

They faked us out once before, so we'll be super careful in announcing that allegedly Angelina Jolie checked into a hospital yesterday to go on bed rest before she gives birth to the latest Super World Travelers, the twins she is expecting with Brad Pitt.

The babes, reportedly twin girls, will have dual French citizenship because she's currently resting in L'Hopital Lenval in Nice.

"Entertainment Tonight" led the charge in late May to declare that the twins, reportedly due in August, had already been born. Turned out it was just a rumor, possibly spread by an ex-Super Traveler sidekick (er, assistant). This time it was the French media's turn to jump the gun on the planned expansion to America's real first family. But if she were just there for a checkup, would her obstetrician be giving a press conference? We think not!

Anton Chigurh Goes On Vacation

Where: Nice, France

Penelope Cruz and recent Oscar winner Javier Bardem read together on a beach in Nice over Easter Weekend. The couple met in 1992 on the set of the Spanish movie "Jamon, jamon."

If you're on Spring Break in the U.S. (and for some reason you're reading this), you're probably seeing record crowds as the classic spring-vacation window has narrowed. If you're in Europe this week, though, it's business as usual, since in most European countries it's traditional to vacation the week of Holy Week (or at least the weekend of Easter). Plus, with the mighty euro, you probably wouldn't be running into many of your compatriots.
