Ski Report: About #*&%#@* Time!

So New York City finally got some snow. And with a big holiday weekend coming up, there's only one thing to do: Hit the slopes. But wait! The boroughs come up a little short in the groomed trails and ski lifts departments, don't they?

Not to worry. Just west of the city is sizable ski and snowboard haven Mountain Creek. There were already a couple of feet of machine-made snow on the trails before the storm that hit yesterday. With 6 new inches added, the conditions should be as good as they've been all year. The resort's halfpipe isn't open yet, but the terrain park does have a little something going on if you're in to more than carving down the mountain.

Having your own wheels is the easiest way to get out to the resort--it's about 50 miles from Manhattan. NJ Transit busses leaving from the Port Authority bus terminal take just under two hours to reach the mountain. Does this mean we can finally stop waiting for winter to start?
