Airport Photo Shoot: All Bundled Up

Finally! Someone looks as sloppy boarding a flight as we do! Pete Wentz and his pregnant wife Ashlee Simpson boarded a private jet in Lake Tahoe on Monday wearing about nine layers combined.

No micropurse for the mom-to-be: She's got enough stuff to be entertained no matter where they're headed.

Ashlee's singer sister Jessica Simpson trailed behind wearing Daisy Dukes and high heels, with a bodyguard carrying her Louis Vuitton as she cradled her Maltese. And she's supposed to be the country one?

Near-Record Snowfall at Tahoe

We really like skiing and boarding. But that doesn't mean we want to spend our whole vacation just getting to the mountain. Our Ski Areas Near Airports Map will help you maximize your time on the slopes.

While the rest of the country slogs its way through a long and merciless winter, Lake Tahoe's ski resorts are getting pounded with near-record snowfall. Weekend storms dumped an extra three feet of fresh powder on top of an already high base level--over 12 feet at some spots!

Spring skiing has always been popular at Tahoe, and every year some lifts stay open until May despite balmy temperatures. With the snowpack at the highest its been in decades and La Nina likely to bring abnormally cooler weather, this year looks to be even better.

The North Lake Tahoe Express will get you from the airport to the slopes in about an hour, so those looking for a quick weekend jaunt need not involve an automobile; it'll keep your carbon footprint small, too. Then again, with snow like this, we 're starting to wonder what the hell Al Gore was so worried about.

Worst Vacation Ever: Sean Penn's Hotel Threesome

Vacations are hard work. (It's no surprise that Britney Spears' latest breakdown followed on the heels of the post-holiday custody hand-off.) But one star's efforts to kick back and relax probably granted him the worst holiday season ever. Whatever you do next year, don't be like Sean Penn, who's wife allegedly caught him in bed with two Russian women while they were on vacation.

According to reports, Sean and wife Robin Wright Penn, who just served him with divorce papers, were staying at the Squaw Valley Resort in Lake Tahoe, California in separate rooms. A few days before Christmas, Robin--best known as Buttercup in "The Princess Bride"--came over for a chat and caught Sean drunk and having a little afternoon delight.

If true, this is the craziest things Sean has ever done since "21 Grams." Threesomes and family travel; they just don't mix.

Lake Tahoe Gets Buried in Snow

The big Presidents Day weekend is over, which usually means the long, painful death of the ski season has begun. At least, that's usually the case. But at Lake Tahoe, forecasts are calling for 2-3 feet of snow today in the higher elevations. That's on top of the 3 feet of snow most resorts got yesterday.

What's the best strategy for tackling the powder? We'll leave the age old question of "To ski or to snowboard" up to you--though we heart monoskiing. But when it comes to tickets, your best bet is the Ski Tahoe North Interchangeable Lift Ticket. Offered by the local visitor's bureau, the $58 pass is valid at seven resorts, so you can go where the powder is deepest. The only catch is that you have to buy the tix for multiple days, so your minimum commitment is $116. Still, not a lot to pay to shred six feet of fresh snow.
