All Points West Returns with Rock-Heavy Lineup, Chance to Volunteer for Free Tickets

One of the highlights of the summer music season, the All Points West Music & Arts Festival, will return to Liberty State Park in Jersey City (just across the river from Manhattan) on July 31, August 1 and August 2.
Following last year’s very successful Radiohead-led inaugural event, this year’s festival features Coldplay, MGMT, Vampire Weekend and Tool. Sadly, opening night headliners the Beastie Boys just pulled out of the show after Adam “MCA” Yauch was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his salivary gland.
As is the trend with these events, tickets for the three-day fest are a hefty $219, or $89 a day. APW does have a recession-era deal for you however, and it’s actually not a bad deal if you don’t mind hauling around some trash bags. Volunteer to work 15 hours over the course of the festival, and they’ll hook you up with a free three-day pass. If you think about the $219 cost of the ticket, that’s like getting paid $14.60 an hour, except you get paid in free music—a pretty good rate these days!

Adventure Seekers Get Xperienced
There is nothing quite like an 'adventure-filled' vacation. Your car breaks down, your flight is late, your kid breaks an arm....But what if you could choose a real adventure-filled vacation--and tailor it to your exact specifications.
Check out Xperience Days. The NJ-based adventure-travel/experience company provides customized trips to suit your every desire. These include an Air Combat "g-pulling" dogfight flight in a fighter plane, a private full day of Ferrari racing in a Ferrari F355 or your very own weightless flight on G-Force One (above). They've also got some tamer options like fly-fishing, makeover days and professional dance lessons.
Of course, like most adventures, these don't run cheap. The Ferrari racing goes for $21,000 and the G-Force One flight costs more then the down payment for your house. But still...it's the adult chance to re-live those 'Choose Your Own Adventure' Days.

Karate Kid's Vu
Sometimes you just know that all is right with the world and everything is as it should be.
Ralph Macchio, a.k.a. grasshoppa Danny LaRusso, was spotted dining at Vu. What is Vu? you ask. The restaurant that "infuses New Jersey dining with a Tuscan flair" (huh? we're not sure this is even possible) on top of the Hyatt in stunning Jersey City, NJ.
Man who catch fly with chopsticks accomplish anything.
