An Up-Close, Exclusive Look at London's Olympic White Water Rafting Course

It's almost exactly one year before the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics and what am I doing? Well, squeezing my butt into a wetsuit is the short answer, but the long answer is heading out on the manmade rapids that comprise the Lee Valley White Water Centre just outside of London, for a sampling of what the Olympians will be going through this time next year, and what the adventurous public can experience now.

Did you ever go to an amusement park with little rides for kids that involved a blue track of shallow water with a slow current that lazily propelled round floating rafts until time was up? The Lee Valley White Water Centre is that, for adults, times a zillion, with the addition of major adrenaline rush.

David Beckham and Posh Entertain to Celebrate the World Cup

Victoria Beckham and husband/Real Madrid star David Beckham threw a rager yesterday to celebrate the impending start of the World Cup. The star-studded affair was held on the grounds of their mega-estate, and had a Mediterranean theme, complete with orange trees and sunflowers flown in from Seville.

Guests from all over, er, Britain traveled to the party, including the Osbournes, Robbie Williams and British Conservative Party leader David Cameron. Becks showed his emotional side mentioning he wanted to settle down in Spain for a while, and how hard it was to leave his British team:

"You know, I think at the time, when I'd signed for Real Madrid, and when I got home, I think I actually cried because, you know, it was Man United, it was a team that I'd been at for my whole life."

Awww, Becks, the "sensitive guy" act is always a sure bet. In the meantime, we hear Victoria flitted around the affair in a canary yellow Cavalli gown split ever-so-classily up to her thigh, while her bony limbs dripped in over $2 million worth of Asprey diamonds. We bet the move to a simpler life in Spain will really help her humility.
