Training Camp Travel: The Scoop on the Cincinnati Bengals

Are you ready for some football? It’s still several weeks before the NFL season kicks off to provide meaning to our Sundays once again, but training camp has arrived. We’ve checked out what’s going on at several spots and teams around the league, and this is what we found:

Like other teams, the Cincinnati Bengals look to improve on last season’s performance, and they’re hoping to do so with the help of two big mouth wide receivers. Joining Chad Ochocinco and his Twitter obsession is Terrell Owens—"TO" to you and me. Only time will tell how things will work out with these two and the Bengals, but right now anything is possible.

The Ski Season Is Already Underway In Colorado

Many people are still putting the final touches on their jack-o-lanterns, but it’s already time to break out the skis from the storage unit. Winter has arrived extra early in some parts of Colorado this year. Last week a baseball playoff game was canceled due to a little snow and sleet, and the Loveland Ski Area fired up the lifts for the first time this season on October 7. It’s been cold enough and they've had the snow-making machines running at full force to get everything ready for the beginning of the season.

The resort is about 50 miles outside Denver and this is the first time they’ve opened this early in about 40 years—guess there’s no trouble with global warming up on the slopes. Unless some other ski resort sneakily opened their facility without any fanfare, Loveland is the first ski resort to open in North America this year.

Mandarin Oriental Hits Grand Cayman

Fan of the Mandarin Oriental hotels? You're in luck. The high-end chain has announced they will build their first resort in the Caribbean on Grand Cayman Island.

It will be a $54 million complex and have 114-rooms, located about 35 minutes from Georgetown. They plan on breaking ground later this year and will have things completed by 2007.
