This week the Sasquatch! Festival announced their 2012 lineup featuring some old favorites, like Jack White and Beck, as well as newer groups like Bon Iver.
The tenth incarnation of the fest, which will be held on Memorial Day Weekend (May 25-28) at The Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington, will also bring the laughs with comedy acts like Tenacious D, the Portlandia duo of Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein, and comedians Nick Kroll, Todd Barry, and Rob Delaney.
Four-day passes for Sasquatch! start at $315 (which includes standard camping) and go on sale Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Also, for the first time this year, festival goers will be able to come and go with a wristband allowing re-entry to the festival grounds.

If you happened to be in the historic town of George in South Africa’s Western Cape last weekend, you’d have seen an extraordinary sight. At 8.15am on Valentine’s Day, 625 competitors were lined up at the start of the world’s biggest, brightest wheelchair race: the Outeniqua Wheelchair Challenge.
Buggies, tricycles, adapted bicycles mingled with sleek racing wheelchairs and hand cycles. South African Paralympic hero and world record holder Ernst van Dyk prepared himself for the marathon alongside athletes who had traveled from France, Namibia and Zimbabwe and all over the country to attend.
On the other side of the partition were a motley collection of participants in the fun race – from disabled 2-year-old babies to a 95-year-old granny in a buggy. It was both bizarre and wonderful.
Bizarre because South Africa is not generally known as a pioneer in promoting disability rights. That may be changing.
The Sasquatch! Music Festival has just announced the lineup for this Memorial Day weekend, May 24-26. Among the acts headlining are The Cure, R.E.M., Death Cab for Cutie, Modest Mouse, M.I.A. and--wow, '90s flashback!--The Breeders.
Also making an appearance will be Flight of the Conchords, New Zealand tourism's favorite band.
The music fest happens at The Gorge Amphitheater in Central Washington state, not far from Wenatchee. You can score advance three-day tickets until March 9 for just $151.50.
